Biography
Beerus (Japanese: ビルス, Hepburn: Birusu) was a male felinoid being from Universe 7 who was one of the feared Gods of Destruction with him having a twin brother named Champa who headed Universe 6. At some point, he was assigned an attendant named Whis who became his tutor and someone as the strongest person he had ever fought. He was placed in charge of Universe 7 where he was tasked with its oversight. Around 75 million years ago, he had a meeting with his universe's Supreme Kai where an argument erupted over a trifling situation that resulted in the short-tempered Beerus sealing his counterpart within the Z Sword. Another time, he visited the world of King Kai where they placed an elaborate game of hide-and-seek where Beerus lost and in his anger he destroyed the planet. The remains were then fashioned into a planetoid of a much smaller size by King Kai with this being a reminder to him not to anger the God of Destruction. Long ago, he came to Planet Earth when it was inhabited by the Dinosaurs where the giant reptiles annoyed him causing him to wipe them from the surface of the world.
During his life, he was known to had known Frieza who came to fear the God of Destruction. He once arrived on Planet Vegeta where he forced King Vegeta to serve him food and used the monarch as a foot stool with a young Prince Vegeta witnessing the act. During this time, he found the Saiyans to be an arrogant race of upstarts and had planned their destruction but instead left it to Lord Freiza to accomplish the act.
During a 39-year sleep, Beerus awoke early with his alarm clocks waking him during this time. This was because he had heard of a prophecy from his seer that spoke of a possible challenge by a figure who had attained the power of a Super Saiyan God. He dreamed of this moment which was the reason for his eventual early awakening. After recalling this reason, he consulted with Whis to find the state of affairs in the universe where he was surprised to find that Frieza had been killed. Intrigued, Beerus sought out Goku, who currently was training on King Kai's Planet, to confront him about the Super Saiyan God warrior. Beerus and Whis make their way to King Kai's planet, taking 26 minutes, as they have planned to eat grilled salmon on the way there. Mentioned by Old Kai, since Beerus' awakening, he has destroyed eight and one-half of the universe's planets. On his way to King Kai's planet, Beerus complains about the food Whis packed for him, having 'tired' of what he was eating, even though he had it once 160 years before when he destroyed Planet Monser, according to Whis. They would arrive at King Kai's planet in 10 minutes. After King Kai's failed efforts to stop them from making contact, Beerus notices the hiding Goku, meeting him, and questions whether or not he is the Super Saiyan God from his dream. Goku immediately challenges him to a sparring match but is unable to land a single hit on the god of destruction. Beerus then counters by flicking Goku in the forehead, then immediately knocks him down with a pressure-point jab in the shoulder. He then leaves with Whis to find Vegeta at Bulma's birthday party.
Upon arriving on Earth, Beerus finds Vegeta and starts messing with him by appearing elsewhere. Beerus stops and tries to remind Vegeta about him remembering Beerus being involved in his childhood, however, Vegeta still does not remember until he is paralyzed by Beerus, which causes him to recall their last encounter involving his father, King Vegeta. Beerus asks Vegeta if he knows of the Super Saiyan God, which comes to Vegeta's surprise. Bulma comes and greets Beerus and Whis and invites them to her party. Beerus and Whis greet the other attendees of the party. Beerus is approached by Yamcha and conversed, and gave him a friendly smack at the back, much to Vegeta's worry, knowing Beerus' temperament. As Krillin shows up and presents Beerus Russian Octopus Balls, one is full of wasabi. After Beerus takes one, he becomes seemingly disgusted, to Vegeta's chagrin, but suddenly, he explodes in joy, Beerus enjoys the food, while describing its deliciousness. Beerus still seeks out the Super Saiyan God, but Whis told him that most of the Saiyans are children and that Goku and Vegeta are the only pure-blooded Saiyans. Vegeta arrives and brings more Russian Octopus Balls even Beerus is getting full and annoyed. He asks Vegeta about his relationship with Goku and was told that he is his rival. Before eating a Russian Octopus Ball, Trunks strikes Beerus with water from his water gun, which greatly infuriates Beerus. Beerus threatens to blow up the Earth, but Vegeta calms him down by causing a scene: diving into the ocean and blasting an octopus and starts making more Octopus Balls. Beerus calms down and hears of pudding by Whis.
Overview
Personality and attributes
In terms of appearance, Beerus resemble a humanoid sphynx cat-like humanoid with purple skin and a tail. Due to his position, he was also known as Beerus the Destroyer.
Old Kai had said that the inevitability of his existence did not give meaning to his actions as Beerus simply acted only on his own whim with him being described as being nothing but bottled chaos.
Beerus had said that nobody who trumpeted justice was ever righteous themselves.
He was shown as being a temperamental being who was used to getting his way due to his extreme power. This went to the point that he threatened to destroy worlds if they annoyed him or did not acquiesce to his wishes.
However, Beerus was hotheaded and somewhat selfish and can become easily angered over trivial matters, such as being beaten in a game of Hide-and-Seek, being served greasy food, or being denied pudding. He is also confident in his superior power, not without cause, as he proved to be the strongest opponent ever fought by the Z Fighters at the time. He is also shown to be egotistical, not wanting to admit whenever he is wrong about something or that he is to blame for a particular situation that was either directly or indirectly caused by him.
It was his duty to destroy worlds with him stating that destruction was required before creation could occur in the cosmos.
Beerus was shown to have a fondness for food and delighted in tasty meals.
Powers and abilities
It was noted that he had an incredibly long lifespan with him having lived for countless thousands of years. As a God of Destruction, Beerus was incredibly powerful with him stated to be the strongest being in the universe. Through ki manipulation, he could achieve a variety of feats including flight and firing blasts of energy. In fact, his power was so great that he could generate ki blasts which could destroy entire planets. Even a simple sneeze could roduce a powerful energy blast capable of involuntarily destroying the two suns of Beerus' planet.
Beerus is easily able to destroy planets, he once tapped his nail and half of the planet was completely obliterated. He also destroyed a planet completely by letting a tiny bit of energy drop from his finger onto its surface. It is stated by the Supreme Kais that Beerus has enough power to destroy the entire universe if he was provoked enough - and it is again later implied that at full power, Beerus would destroy the entire universe. It is also stated by King Kai that Beerus is at a level "far beyond strong". Beerus is shown to also have immense speed, in the anime proving able to go from his temple to another planet located in another star system or galaxy in less than two minutes, making him able to cross great distances within space without Whis' help. Beerus can simply sneeze and blow decorative planets up. A single snuff of wasabi is enough to cause Beerus to dash about and blow multiple decorative planets up. According to Old Kai, however, at the time when Beerus sealed him away 75 million years ago, he was not as strong as Majin Buu.

- Hakai (破壊, "Destruction") : the strongest technique known to him whereby he could completely destroy all objects and entities within the universe. Upon use, its effects were instantaneous as it destroyed the body and even souls of mortals with even low-tier gods affected by its power.
As a God of Destruction, his life was linked to that of the Supreme Kai of his universe meaning that if one died then the other would perish as well. Such a system was designed to prevent an imbalance between the natural forces of creation and destruction.
