Biography

Bo-Katan Kryze was a female human of the race of Mandalorians where she was a member of Clan Kryze and the sister of the Duchess Satine Kryze who led the pacifistic New Mandalorians in the time of the Old Republic.

She became opposed to Moff Gideon and looked to recover the Darksaber before he could do so in order to reclaim Mandalore. This saw her and her Mandalorian warriors travelling to the watery world of Trask where they attacked Imperial shipments and claimed weapons. During this time, she responded to a Mandalorian bounty hunter that had arrived on the planet named Din Djarin who was being preyed upon by Quarren that wanted to claim his beskar armour. Bo-Katan and her warriors killed the criminals on their sea trawler and helped rescue the bounty hunter's charge. However, Djarin was hostile to Lady Bo-Katan after she and her warriors removed their helmets which he believed to be against the Mandalorian Creed. This marked him as a Child of the Watch that were extremists that believed in the old and more traditional ways of Mandalore. He departed and returned to port where he was surrounded by the sea trawlers comrades with the Quarren wanting revenge. Despite outnumbering the bounty hunter, they were killed when Lady Bo-Katan and her warriors arrived to assist Djain where she requested his aid. He though was more focused in taking his charge to find one of the legendary Jedi with Kryze willing to direct him to Ahsoka Tano but he had to help her on a mission first. This was to target an Imperial transport carrying weapons off Trask to remnants of the Empire where she wanted to intercept the shipment and possibly find the Darksaber among its cargo. The four Mandalorians stormed the transport and made their way through its guard detail of Stormtroopers who were all killed in the process. Taking control of the ship, she questioned its captain about the Darksaber who confirmed that Moff Gideon had taken the legendary lightsaber before he committed suicide via an implant. With the transport under her control, she asked Djarin to help her in liberating Mandalore but she was determined to complete his own quest. She then told him to go to the planet Corvus and to seek out Ahsoka Tano with him thanking her before departing the ship using his jetpack.

Afterwards, she and Koska Reeves were on a planet when they were approached by Din Djarin along with Boba Fett. The bounty hunter had requested Bo-Katan's aid after Moff Gideon had taken the child though Lady Kryze stated that they could never find the Imperial warlord. A brief argument erupted with Boba Fett over his status as a Mandalorian but Djarin stated that he had the Moff's coordinates after stealing an Imperial shuttle. Lady Bo-Katan then agreed to help but in exchange she wanted the Darksabre in Gideon's possession and also to claim his cruiser. She had intended to use it in the retaking of Mandalore and once again asked Djarin to help her on this task with him agreeing to do so if he could recover the child. Thus, the two Mandalorian warriors accompanied were part of a team of six who were staging an attack on the Imperial cruiser. This involved the majority present on the shuttle which would pretend to be a friendly under attack from Fett's ship. Using this trap, they would sneak on-board the cruiser where they would make their way to the bridge whilst Djarin went to disable the Dark Trooper droids stationed on-board and then recover the child. The diversionary team headed by Bo-Katan managed to make their way to the bridge but could not find Moff Gideon. In reality, he had gone to the detention cell holding the child where he attempted to ambush Djarin who managed to successfully defeat him. However, this created a problem as he had defeated the Moff and thus won the Darksabre instead of Lady Bo-Katan with this meaning that she could not use the blade to unite Mandalore as its ruler. Another complication emerged as he jettisoned Dark Troopers managed to make their way back to the cruiser where the platoon looked to reclaim the ship with the team forced to stay behind the sealed bridge. They would have been overwhelmed by the droids had a Jedi not arrived at the scene having received Grogu's call for aid with this being revealed Luke Skywalker who had taken the child under his care and to train him in the use of the Force.
