History

Chandilar was an inhabitable world that was the home of the Shi'ar race and the Throneworld of the Shi'ar Empire. (Uncanny X-Men v1 #275)

Lilandra came to take the throne with the X-Men taking part in the celebrations though Gambit and Jubilee came to spy a mysterious plot occurring in secret on the planet. (Uncanny X-Men v1 #275) A group of Warskrulls came to infiltrate Chandilar by taking the place of Professor X and some of his X-Men. One of their number came to masquerade as the Lord Chamberlain whilst the other used Xavier's telepathy to take control of Gladiator of the Shi'ar Imperial Guard. (Uncanny X-Men v1 #276)

On Chandilar, Empress Lilandra came to learn of the detonation of the Nega-Bomb which engulfed the Kree Empire and killed millions. Though securing a Shi'ar victory, she did not celebrate and instead mourned for the massive loss of life. (Avengers v1 #347)

After being freed, Vulcan set a path to throneworld of Chandilar and commandeered a Shi'ar ship in order to make use of their Stargates to quickly travel there. (Uncanny X-Men v1 #477)

Cosmo the Spacedog travelled to Chandilar to have an audience with Gladiator and to recruit him into a team of powerful heroes that would defend the universe with them being the Annihilators. (Thanos Imperative: Devastation v1 #1)

Chandilar became the site of a contest held between the new Thor and the Shi'ar gods Sharra and K'ythri. (Mighty Thor v2 #16)

The New Mutants were later tasked with escorting Deathbird to Chandilar so that she could serve as advisor to her niece the Empress Xandra. (New Mutants v4 #7)

Majestrix Lilandra was at the Imperial Palace when it came under attack from forces belonging to Deathbird who looked to seize the throne with her new ally the time-travelling Apocalypse. However, he instead kidnapped the telepath Oracle of the Imperial Guard as he required her for his own plans whereupon he escaped into the timestream. This led to Deathbird being captured and her attempted coup failing as a result.
