History

The Death Dealers were an organization of vampire warriors formed during the 6th century when William Corvinus had been bitten by a rabid wolf that turned him into the first Lycan. His twin brother Marcus Corvinus had been in the mean time bitten by a bat that mutated the Corvinus Strain virus within him to turn him into the first Vampire. Among the two brothers, William became overcome by his animal instincts leading to him becoming a ranging monster that killed every human in his path. Those humans bitten by him were transformed into savage mindless Lycans themselves who became a plague on the land as they preyed on humans turning others into their kind. Though powerful, Marcus Corvinus lacked the number to combat the sheer number of growing Lycans and thus decided to form his own army. He would approach a nobleman by the name of Viktor who was a frail human though held a strong military force. In exchange for their aid, Marcus would transform Viktor into a Vampire which gave him immortality as result. His army similarly became Vampires with the soldiers being called the Death Dealers that operated under the military expertise of Viktor alongside the third Vampire elder Amelia. Despite this army, their activities were somewhat limited as they were unable to operate during sunlight hours that allowed William time to escape pursuit. As a result, it took the Death Dealers around six hundred years in order to track him down. During this era, the ranks of the Death Dealers suffered heavy casualties which saw many new members inducted into their ranks. Eventually, in the winter of 1202, the three Vampire Elders managed to track down William to a remote village that he had turned into Lycans. The Death Dealers managed to eliminate the transformed humans and succeeded in capturing William though they did not kill him. Instead, they imprisoned him within a sarcophagus that was locked away for the next eight centuries. Afterwards, the Death Dealers would continue their campaign of tracking down and killing William's Lycan children.

During the 15th century, a number of Lycans were tamed with Lucian being the first of their number. These Lycans were capable of being trained and spread by Lucius who began infecting Humans with his strain of the virus. Outside the vampire settlement, there existed hordes of feral Lycans that the Death Dealers regularly went out to hunt. In addition, they were often dispatched to protect the territories of humans that offered the vampires tribute for their protection against the Lycans. Viktor's daughter Sonja would regularly depart during such culling missions and was accompanied by Death Dealers. The vampire elder Viktor was also accompanied by his own elite guard of Death Dealers. During this time, Lucian and Sonja would fell in love with their hidden affair making her pregnant with a hybrid child. In anger, Viktor would execute his own daughter that turned Lucian against his vampire masters and he rallied the Lycans in rebellion. These freed Lycans would combat the defending Death Dealers who were all slain during the insurrection. During the following years, the vampires and Lycans engaged in endless warfare with one another. On one such engagement, the Death Dealers were assembled where they attacked the Lycans at their fortress. All of their number were slain though one survived who seemingly had killed Lucian with his warrior being Kraven with it being believed that the Lycan threat had been greatly diminished now that their leader was dead.

In the modern age, the Death Dealers continued to operate in secret where they continued to wage war against the Lycans. Among their number was Selene who was the favored warrior of the Vampire Elder Viktor. She and her comrades would manage to track a trio of Lycans to a subway station though one of the Death Dealers was slain when the Lycans used ultraviolet ammunition. Two of the Lycans were killed though the Death Dealers accompanying Selene were slain whereupon she reported her encounter to Kahn. At the time, the reigning Vampire Elder was Amelia who was being transported to the New World Coven by Death Dealers when they were ambushed and slaughtered by a Lycan ambush. Vitkor was awakened from his slumber and was informed of this development leading to him ordering all the Death Dealers to strike at their enemies lair underneath the subway. The Death Dealers proved to be successful though suffered heavy losses whilst the remaining member of their ranks was slain by Selene who had sought to protect the Hybrid Michael Corvin that was being targeted by them. A small contingent of Death Dealers that were loyal to the vampire Kraven who had betrayed Viktor by siding with Lycan Lucius. He would return with his guard detail to the vampire mansion in order to slay the last vampire elder Marcus Corvinus. However, Marcus had awoken after being accidently fed Lycan blood turning him into a Vampire/Lycan Hybrid whereupon he slew Kraven's Death Dealer guards after which he burnt the mansion to the ground. Following the Purge, the Death Dealers became a story told amongst vampire covens as they had long been destroyed.

Within the Eastern Coven, this stronghold sought to rebuild it's Death Dealer army under the training of the senior warrior Varga. However, this force consisted of largely untrained neophytes. The Vampire Semira went before the Eastern Covens Council to request clemency to be given to Selene in exchange for her to train the Death Dealer recruits. Despite opposition, the motion was carried and the coven gave her sanctuary whete she began the training. However, this proved to be a trap by Semira as she had her lover Varga use nightshade poison on Selene whereupon he murdered the Death Dealer recruits. Their deaths were blamed on Selene who became a fugitive where on fact she was Semira's prisoner who was draining her of her hybrid blood. She was only rescued by David after he learnt of Semira's treachery.

Overview

During the modern age, they were equipped with more sophisticated weapons such as machine guns that could be equipped with special ammunition. This included the use of silver bullets that were poisonous and particularly painful against Lycans. They also were able to make use of shuriken style weapons designed to imbed themselves in the flesh of their target.
