History

Los Illuminados (IPA: /los ilumiˈnados/, Spanish, meaning "The Enlightened") were a cult founded in the 1990's in a remote region of Spain. Its origins were traced to a man named Osmund Saddler who through unknown means came to learn the existence of an ancient parasite known as Las Plagas. In the guise of the Prophet, he founded the Los Illuminados as a religion where converts were infected with the parasite to secure their loyalty. Among the earliest converts was Ramon Salazar who was a descendant of a crusader lord where he was told to repent for his perceived sins by re-opening the caverns containing the parasite that had originally been sealed by his ancestors.
