Biography

Alice MacAllister was a female human Mutant born in Doncaster, England. From a young age, she was shown to had been frustrated and angry with her single mother attempting to support her. Her mother wanted Alice to get an education so that she did not have to work at a factory. However, Alice kept disappearing and going off on her own to parties or other events whilst skipping on her studies. When she was 16 years old, she had an argument with her mother where Alice came to wish that she herself had died to end the suffering she was experiencing. She then went to her room where her mother went to give her some food only to find Alice dead. In reality, her powers had activated causing her to become a psionic being without a physical form who drifted until she began possessing the bodies of people. (Excalibur v4 #20)

After the establishment of the nation of Krakoa, all Mutants were given a home on the living island that was to be the home of their people. During this time, Malice began to prey on and target the Krakoans where she took possession of Betsy Braddock's body in secret where she attempted to target her teammates. Upon being discovered, her psionic form escaped but Betsy along with Kwannon and Rogue went about trying to stop Malice. This was the laws of the Quiet Council of Krakoa held that rogue Mutants would be forever locked away deep inside the living island in a prison where they could not escape. To spare Malice this fate, Excalibur went about trying to find her with the former Marauder having secretly taken over Emma Frost's body. She was forced out of it by Kwannon where she became trapped within a psionic dagger allowing for Betsy Braddock to try to communicate with her. She came to see Alice's past and the pain she experienced where she attempted to calm her down as well as offer her a new body that would be grown for her. At first, Malice only lashed out aggressively but came to settle whereupon the Five came to grow a new body for her so that she could begin her life anew on Krakoa. At first, Professor X looked to punish Malice for her recent crimes but Betsy Braddock, Kwannon and Emma Frost all pardoned her allowing for Alice to begin a fresh start at life for herself. (Excalibur v4 #20)

Overview

Personality and attributes

She typically used her acts of possession in harmful and violent ways where she acted against other Mutants. (Excalibur v4 #20)

It was shown that when she was 16 years old that she lived with her mother who was her sole parent and who helped support her daughter. (Excalibur v4 #20)

Powers and abilities

After the death of her physical body, she came to be a sentient being of pure psychic energy who was only able to manifest corporeally through physical possession. Her acts of possession were aggressive whereby she suppressed the mind of her target completely in favour of Malice's control. Certain theories held that she herself was not psionic with her possession not being psychic in nature but more emotional. Those under her control suddenly sported a necklace appearing on their throat with this being a means of identifying a person who was possessed by her. However, Malice was shown to be capable of concealing this and thus hiding herself people more completely. It was said that Malice was resistant to typical psychic prying and elusive to those attempting to delve into her mind. (Excalibur v4 #20)
