Biography
Mister Toad was a male being in the modern age where he operated in Gotham City on Earth. He was a member of the Circus of Strange where he was dispatched on a mission by Professor Pyg. Along with armed men, they conducted a robbery to acquire an item of interest. Mister Toad then served as the getaway driver where they were escaping from the authorities but drew the attention of Batman and Robin. (Batman and Robin v1 #1)

- Mister Toad was created by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely where he made his first appearance in Batman v1 #666 (July, 2007).
- The character was based on Mr. Toad from the novel The Wind in the Willows.
Alternate Versions
- In Future State: Batman/Superman v1 #1 (2021), an alternate version of Mister Toad appeared in the possible future timeline of Future State. It was revealed that he had a cousin who adopted the guise of Mister Toad whilst claiming it as a tool to fight oppression. His cousin claimed that he was a fool but by 2025 they came to adopt the mantle as well to fight the tyranny of the Magistrate who had taken over Gotham City. This Mister Toad was the head of the False Face Society and supplied its members with the False Face Serum that gave them a variety of animal faces on a genetic level that was used to hide the person's identity.

- In Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Mister Toad was briefly seen in the animated television series in the episode "The Knights of Tomorrow!" in a non-voiced role.
- In Beware the Batman, Mister Toad appeared as an antagonist in the animated television series where he was voiced by actor Udo Kier.
