Heroes for Hire

During the Civil War, Iron Man met with Misty Knight about organising a team of heroes in order to concentrate on low level crimes and to maintain order. Reluctantly, she agreed and formed a new incarnation of the Heroes for Hire who went about stopping super-powered related criminals. This included the addition of former criminals who were given a trial run and allowed to aid in arrests so long as they did not kill anyone. (Heroes for Hire v2 #1)

Aftermath

Knight was then hired on retainer by a museum to guard an archaeological expedition on the White Mountain in National Forest with this being headed by Dr. Annabelle Riggs. She was tasked with protecting them from mercenaries that were raiding sites filled with ancient relics. At the site, Dr. Riggs had uncovered Asgardian artifacts where she incidentally awakened the undead buried at a mass grave in the area after touching a statue. This caused the undead to attack the people there with Misty Knight battling them despite being outnumbered. She was then joined by the Valkyrie Brunnhilde who destroyed the relic that was awoken the wraiths of thieves, brigands and murderers that were buried in the site. Valkyrie though revealed that the incident had shown her a vision of a great threat from the Doom Maidens awakening again with her deciding to go to Asgardia to consult with the All-Mother. (Fearless Defenders v1 #1) Misty Knight along with Annabelle Riggs both accompanied her on this mission in stopping this threat to the world. (Fearless Defenders v1 #2)

In disguise, she went undercover in Bagalia on behalf of S.H.I.E.L.D. where she watched supervillain activity. During this time, she seemingly uncovered a vast conspiracy that involved Hydra having infiltrated every group on the planet and turned them to their cause. Knight was unsure on who to trust and did not share her findings with her handlers. She broke her cover when the new Captain America Sam Wilson was transported to Bagalia and was beset upon by Crossbones. Misty came to knock the villain out and helped Wilson where she told him about the Hydra conspiracy. (All-New Captain America v1 #2)

Misty Knight has left the NYPD for an unknown reason. She is approached by Daredevil and Nur who enlist her to help find Wolverine after his body goes missing from its unmarked grave. She takes them to an information broker that she knows who turns out to be Cypher. When Nur hands him a smartphone, Cypher makes use of it and tells Daredevil, Misty Knight, and Nur about the different Wolverine sightings in the past sixty days. (Hunt for Wolverine: Weapon Lost v1 #1) Using an Attilan Security Force Skycharger that was "borrowed" from the Inhumans, Daredevil, Misty Knight, Nur, and Cypher investigate the sightings of Wolverine in Manhattan, Phoenix, and Chicago. Misty Knight and Nur arrive at McCarthy Medical Institute in Manhattan where Jane Foster was enrolled and learned that an unnamed man delivered flowers. The security footage revealed that it was by someone that resembled Wolverine. In Chicago, Misty Knight learns from a security guard that he deleted a post when he thought he saw Wolverine. When it came to Saskatchewan, they hear that Ranger Outpost Nine in Meadowlake Provincial Park was attacked by a man with claws. When they arrive, Daredevil, Misty Knight, and Nur find the males dead and the female missing as they head into the forest to investigate. (Hunt for Wolverine: Weapon Lost v1 #2)

Aberrant Crimes Division

She later came to be a member of the new Aberrant Crimes Division (A.C.D.) that was responsible for handling super-powered cases. (Sentry v3 #1) This was a branch of the F.B.I. with Misty being a lead agent in the division. (Jessica Jones v2 #2)

After John Jameson, a former member of the FBI's Anti-Symbiote Task Force, went missing while investigating Doverton, Colorado, Misty was sent to retrieve him. She found him naked under some wreckage suffering from amnesia, but she reminded him of who he was and the two discovered that Carnage was back and more powerful than ever. (Web of Venom: Cult of Carnage v1 #1)

With Carnage dealt with and her arm replaced, Misty found a job at Ravencroft at the request of her bosses at the FBI and became the new counselor at the institute, using her experience in the Villains for Hire to try and help the convicts reform, while also keeping an eye on Agent John Jameson. (Ravencroft v1 #1)
