Following the Crisis on Infinite Earths, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.

Alexander Luthor Jr. came to take on the identity of Lex Luthor and in this guise he helped found the Secret Society of Super-Villains that were gathering all supervillains into their ranks. Seeking to uncover this imposter, the real Lex Luthor went into hiding and went about assembling a team of his own to thwart the Society and disrupt their plans leading to him operating as the mysterious Mockingbird. (Villains United v1 #6) Under the Mockingbird persona, they assembled chosen individuals to be the Secret Six that included Deadshot, Catman, Cheshire, Scandal Savage, Rag Doll Peter Merkel Jr. and a rogue Parademon. (Villains United v1 #1)

Later on, Amanda Waller was noted to had taken the code name and began to secretly manage the actions of the Secret Six. (Secret Six v3 #18)

Post-Flashpoint

Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.

Edward Nigma came to take the code name of the Mockingbird where he began to manipulate events of a group of people that became the Secret Six. Big Shot came to be his unwilling spy on the team and had been feeding Nigma information. (Secret Six v4 #3)

Overview

In appearance, Mockingbird was a code name of the mysterious leader of the Secret Six. Generally, the members of the team had never seen Mockingbird whose identity was a deeply held secret even from them. (Secret Six v1 #1)

  • Mockingbird was created by E. Nelson Bridwell and Frank Springer where it made its first appearance in Secret Six v1 #1 (May, 1968).

Television

  • In Arrow, the Mockingbird code name appeared in the live-actin television series set in the Arrowverse during its season 2 in the episode "Suicide Squad". It was shown as being a code name for Amanda Waller whilst she managed the Suicide Squad.
