History

Morioh (Japanese: 杜王町, Hepburn: Moriō-chō) was an inhabited suburb of M-Prefecture located in S-City that was situated in Japan.

Around 12 years ago, Mr. Nijimura who fell into debt came to fall under the influence of the villainous DIO. This led to him becoming one of the man's followers where he came to be entrusted with one of the Stand creating Arrows.

In the 1990s, a series of murders were committed in the town with the third victim being Reimi Sugimoto. She was a young woman who was working as a babysitter on the day when she was targeted by a serial killer. Sugimoto's home was broken into by the killer at night where they killed the family dog and her parents. Reimi was able to save the life of her charge Rohan Kishbe though she was killed in the process. The murders were never solved and the perpetrator was never caught in that time.

Notorious serial killer Anjuro "Angelo" Katagiri came to be empowered by a Stand because of Keicho Nijimrura whereupon he continued his campaign of murders in the town.

Overview

In appearance, Morioh was shown to be a small coastal town located in Japan. It was roughly centered around its train station, with downtown Morioh being situated near the station and the largest roads spreading in a circle from the station. To the East of the train station are most of the residential areas then the coast itself. To the West South-West of the station are the more rural areas and agricultural fields. Beyond that are mountainous areas. The Hirose river crosses the South of Morioh before linking with the sea. Despite being a Japanese town, the local architecture is mostly Western-style. The residential neighborhoods of Morioh actually resemble American suburbs with spacious tracts of land and detached houses. Morioh's downtown is also occupied by Western-style buildings, which are a couple of stories tall at most, leaving a cleared skyline.

Locations in the town included:

  • Boing-Boing Cape :
  • St. Gentleman's :
  • Mutsukabe :
  • Ryogara Retsugan :
  • Kunimitōge Graveyard :
  • Morioh Grand Hotel :
  • Trattoria Trussardi : a recently established Italian restaurant owned and managed by Tonio Trussardi.
  • Cinderella :
  • Twin Forests Tunnel :
  • Arrow Cross House :

As a countryside Japanese town, life in Morioh is relatively quiet and peaceful. Most of the population consists of ordinary human beings who live ordinary lives. Most of the population belongs to the middle to middle-high class, with some residences used as summer houses for rich people who were not locals. There is a mild obvious criminal activity in young biker gangs who break the law and drive recklessly. In the summer, the town saw an influx of tourists, and the local inhabitants are said to be relatively unwelcoming of the tourists.

It was noted as being a commuter town and a suburb of S City, which means a large part of the working population commutes to the larger S-City to work. However, Morioh is not devoid of local business. The town has a number of small businesses operating, such as the Kameyu market hall, a bank, and other mundane businesses. Morioh also has an industrial port and has a local fishing industry

Alternate Versions

  • In JoJolion, an alternate version of Morioh Town appeared in the new universe created by Enrico Pucci. The town was founded by Date Masamune. The coastline is saturated with condos, touring guides and vacation homes. Tourism is the town's main source of income; but, recently, there has been an unprecedented boom in the microchip manufacturing industry. On March 11, 2011, before the events of the story, a great earthquake and tsunami struck the town, inflicting remarkable damage. In response to the approaching tsunami, the coastline sections were abandoned as sacrifices to protect the remainder of the city and its occupants. Restoration of the damaged areas is still underway, leaving many homeless and suffering. Countless people were killed or are missing. With a significant amount of residential and industrial buildings damaged, refugees and the unemployed make up many of the survivors. The aftermath of the earthquake remains of primary concern in Morioh. The night after the event, the town became isolated by strange protuberances known as the Wall Eyes
