Muriel Carew

Muriel Carew was the daughter of General Sir Danvers Carew, whom was engaged to Dr. Henry Jekyll. Although she deeply loved Jekyll and sought to marry him sooner than her father had arranged, she dared not defy the General's wishes - at first. Later, as Jekyll began sinking ever deeper into despair and anxiety, Muriel finally stood up to father, albeit too late.

After leaving the house, Jekyll transformed into his alter-ego Mr. Hyde. Re-entering he attacked Muriel, who screamed for help. Her father and their butler, Hobson, came running to save her, and in the fight that ensued Hyde killed General Carew. Screaming at Hyde that he was a murderer, Muriel hastily summoned the police as well as Dr. Lanyon.
