Biography

Origin

Amon Tomaz

In reality, Intergang did not sell him into slavery but sent him to the Religion of Crime in order to be sent to their re-education camp. Whilst there, he was among other children that were going to indoctrinated into the dark faith. However, Amon made two attempts at escape each of which failed whereupon he was present at their camp in Yemen with him once more attempting to leave their ranks but was caught once more. This saw his legs being broken and him being badly injured but he was found by Black Adam and his sister who was now the superhero Isis after the two were informed of the cult's secret base by Renee Montoya. They found Amon so badly injured that he could never walk again with Black Adam looking to help his wife's brother by sharing a portion of his magical power with the boy. By calling out Black Adam's name, Amon was transformed by magical lightning as he was empowered by the gods where he took the name Osiris. He then joined the Black Adam family and travelled with his sister along with his brother-in-law to Kahndaq where they sought to change the world. (52 v1 #23)

After his death, a memorial state was made for him which was erected at Titans Tower. (Teen Titans v3 #62) Black Adam came to use a part of his power to transform the deceased Amon's body into his Osiris form so that Tomaz's soul would enter into the land of the dead as one of the nobility. (The Power of Shazam! v1 #48) During the Blackest Night, he came to be one of the many deceased beings that were animated by a black Power Ring and became a member of the undead Black Lantern Corps. (Blackest Night v1 #3) Awaking in Khandaq, the undead Osiris went in search for Black Adam and Isis but instead found the city to be largely empty. In addition, the magic that resided in his body allowed him to partially resist the black Power Ring that kept urging him to kill people that felt emotions. Osiris later came to find Black Adam and Isis turned to stone in the city whilst the people feared his undead state. He was then approached by Sobek who had similarly been resurrected where he claimed that he simply was seeking out his friend in Amon. However, his Black Lantern nature revealed itself as he made Osiris feel emotions whereupon the crocodile man attacked Amon. During their fight, Sobek turned his attention on civilians where he began brutally eating them as he continued to torment Tomaz. Unable to stop Sobek, Osiris decided to call out 'Black Adam' unleashing a powerful magical blast that destroyed his foe but killed Amon as well with his black ring unable to animate him following his sacrifice. (The Power of Shazam! v1 #48) Later on, the power of the Life Entity came to resurrect Osiris back to life where he was a member of the White Lantern Corps that assembled to fight Nekron. Once the crisis was over, the power left him though Amon found that he was given a second chance at life. (Blackest Night v1 #8)

Post-Flashpoint

Overview

Personality and attributes

Upon gaining powers, he came to take the name Osiris for himself. (52 v1 #23)

Whilst enslaved, his body had many injuries and scars some of which hid older ones from the countless beatings he suffered from his captors. (52 v1 #23)

When Black Adam married Isis, he came to consider Amon a brother and to be part of his family. (52 v1 #23)

Powers and abilities

Originally, Amon was an ordinary human being with no special powers though one who had suffered from countless injuries after being a slave. This was to the point that some of his nerves had been twisted and severed. (52 v1 #23)

Black Adam came to share a portion of his magic that empowered him with Amon who had to simply call out his name 'Black Adam'. This caused a bolt of lighting to strike him and he could hear voices in his head that were those of the gods. He gained the strength of Amon, the stamina of Shu, the swiftness of Heru, the power of Aton, the wisdom of Zehuti and the courage of Mehen. (52 v1 #23)
