Alternate Versions
- In Dragon Ball Z: Broly – The Legendary Super Saiyan, Paragus made his first appearance in the non-canon film. He was shown as being the father of Broly, who took his son into hiding from King Vegeta when the Saiyan ruler marked the baby for death. Paragus was saved from dying with Planet Vegeta by his son's power. They travelled across the universe, with Paragus desperately trying to keep a hold on the ever-growing power and violent urges of Broly. Eventually, after Broly destroyed one of Paragus' eyes, he hired an alien to create a control device. Paragus placed this on his son, and began to use his son in a bid for universal domination. Paragus ultimately set his sights on Earth and revenge on King Vegeta's son, conceiving a complex scheme. He began having Broly destroy planets in the South Galaxy, while rounding up the survivors as servants and slaves. Paragus then had his workers construct a false colony on a planet he dubbed New Vegeta. Directing a delegation to Earth, Paragus convinced Vegeta to come to New Vegeta and rule a new Saiyan empire, as well as destroying the Legendary Super Saiyan. Vegeta agreed, and Trunks, Krillin, Master Roshi, Oolong and Gohan came along too. Goku soon appeared on New Vegeta, tracking the Legendary Super Saiyan himself. Broly, sensing Goku, soon grew out of control and went on a rampage. This destroyed the last part of Paragus' plan- to have all of the strongest warriors of Earth on New Vegeta when it would be struck by a comet within the next few hours, killing them all. That would allow Paragus to conquer Earth without damaging it. Knowing that the free and insane Broly would destroy everything, Paragus attempted to escape. Unfortunately for him, his son caught him in his Saiyan spacepod and crushed him to death, throwing the pod into the approaching comet.
