Biography

Micah Flint was a male human who lived in the modern age where years ago he came to volunteer for LexCorp's Project High Frontier. This was an initiative to beat NASA at space exploration through bio-engineering astronauts as part of the secret project. Flint came to serve as a test pilot and took part the experiments but was unaware that Lex Luthor had gotten impatient relaxed the experiment protocols. Initially, it appeared the project was a success but then Flint was gradually mutated into a rock-like creature. Thus, the project was terminated and all the volunteers were abandoned with Luthor coming to believe that Flint had died years ago. In reality, Micah Flint had survived but his mutated body meant that he had to go into hiding and used heavy make-up to seem like he was still human. He decided to travel east but came to read a news article about how Lex Luthor was under house arrest. Flint believed that Luthor was never punished for his actions and decided to seek his revenge against him. Travelling to LexCorp Tower, he broke in where his true appearance was uncovered during the fight. In this time, he was confronted by Superman who looked to stop him as he noted that killing Luthor was not justice. Ultimately, Rock's attempts to slay Luthor were stopped by the Man of Steel who left Micah in an exhausted state from their battle allowing him to be handed over to the authorities. (Superman: Man of Tomorrow v1 #8)

After escaping from imprisonment during a detainee transport - and a brief run-in with the alien known as Scorn who was serving as Superman's substitute - Rock was recruited into the Superman Revenge Squad by Morgan Edge. Together with the Parasite, Barrage and Baud he formed the second line-up of the post-Crisis Squad. (Action Comics v1 #736) Even though the unlikely quartet managed to lure Superman into a trap and to press him hard the Man of Steel finally managed to outwit them, once again defeating and capturing Rock in the process.

Later on Rock was among several villains manipulated by Manchester Black into seeking out and attacking Supermans' friends and family. (Superman Man of Steel v1 #130)

More recently Rock was among a multitude of supervillains banished to live in the penal colony on the planet Salvation by the US government. (Salvation Run)
