History

Sabertooth Sabertooth (Japanese: 剣咬の虎 セイバートゥース, Hepburn: Seibātūsu) were a magical guild established in the kingdom of Fiore in the Earthlands. Under its master Jiemma Orland (ジエンマ・オーランド Jienma Ōrando), it came to establish itself as the strongest guild in the land following the disappearance of Fairy Tail. In the 7 year period, the guild recruited five strange yet very powerful Mages into their ranks. Among them included Sting Eucliffe, Rogue Cheney, Rufus Lore, Orga Nanagear and Minerva Orland. Their presence dramatically increased Sabertooth's strength, eventually making it the number one guild in Fiore. By X791, Sabertooth was renowned as the strongest guild in the Kingdom of Fiore with it being considered superior to many other guilds. The core of the guild's power and the ones behind its reputation are just five Mages, known to possess tremendous Magic Powers: the Twin Dragons of Sabertooth, Sting Eucliffe and Rogue Cheney, as the name implies, are two Dragon Slayers belonging to the so-called Third Generation, meaning that they gained their Magic through both the training of a real Dragon and also from the insertion of Dragon Lacrima in their bodies. Their power is acknowledged by the King of Fiore himself, who referred to seeing them fight on a later date as "saving the best for later",[13] and they made claim that with their Magic, they were able to kill the Dragons who had taught them in the first place.

Later on, the guild decided to partake in the annual Grand Magic Games (大魔闘演武 Dai Matō Enbu) hosted by the Kingdom of Fiore.

Following her match, Yukino Agria came to lose against Kagura Mikazuchi where in the aftermath she was brought before Master Jiemma. He along with quite a few other members of Sabertooth assemble in the hotel where the Sabertooth members lodge in Crocus. Jiemma was extremely angry at the fact that Yukino lost in her battle with Kagura in the Grand Magic Games not only beating her but also being pitied by Kagura who spared her opponent's life on the match. Jiemma threw grapes at Yukino and told her to strip off her clothes as he removed her guild mark, and subsequently excommunicated her from the guild leading to her banishment from their ranks. Later that night, Natsu Dragneel invaded the Sabertooth lodgings after having learnt of what they had done to their own teammate Yukino. This led to Jiemma answering his demands to see him where Natsu scolded him for his behavior. Dragneel even commented on Jiemma whether he too will be kicked out if he lost to him. Jiemma ordered Dobengal to fight Natsu, but the Sabertooth Mage was quickly defeated. Afterwards, Jiemma began to clash with Natsu, however, the battle was soon interrupted by the arrival of Jiemma's daughter, Minerva Orland, making him surprised to see her return. Minerva revealed that she had captured Dragneel's companion Happy in order to put an end to the fight. This led to Natsu deciding to leave with Happy. As Dragneel walked away, Jiemma commented on the young Dragon Slayer's fortitude.

Before the fourth day's third tag battle began, Jiemma told Sting and Rogue to make their victory overwhelming and to show them the power of the strongest guild. When Sting and Rogue activated White Drive and Shadow Drive, Jiemma believed that their match would soon be over whilst calling Fairy Tail a garbage guild. Following Sting and Rogue's defeat, Jiemma began to boil with rage seeing two of his top Mages taken out by one Fairy Tail member with him barely able to contain the anger he felt over Sabertooth's recent losses. At Crocus Gardens, Sting and Rogue stood before Jiemma who asked them about the 'disgrace' they displayed. Rogue simply admitted that Natsu's strength had exceeded their own but this only enraged their guild master. Thinking that they were showing weakness, Jiemma angrily demanded that they remove their guild marks, while at the same time knocking the younger Mages off their feet with a burst of Magic. However, Lector tried to support the Dragon Slayers but Jiemma failed to recognize the cat whereupon the Exceed revealed his own guild mark. This infuriated the Guild master even further, causing him to vaporize Lector with a blast of Magic, much to the shock of the rest of the Guild. Rogue then protectively covered Frosch, thinking that Jiemma was going to attack his Exceed next. Instead, the Masters attention was diverted to Sting, who started crying and yelling in grief. Just as Jiemma was about to scold the White Dragon further, Sting unleashed a devastating attack on the Master in his anger, piercing him straight through the chest, much to the entire guilds shock, except for Minerva, who actually seemed pleased.

Overview

In appearance, Sabertooth was a legal magic guild that consisted of people able to harness their magic power and talented in a variety of spells. Their ranks consisted of at least 10 members with 5 of them being elite mages responsible for earning the guild its current status.

One notable group in the guild were the duo of the Twin Dragons of Sabertooth (剣咬の虎セイバートゥースの双竜 Seibātūsu no Sōryū) which consisted of their two Dragon Slayers.

Originally, the guild maintained a position of survival of the fittest where weakness was not tolerated in its ranks. This meant that recruitment was low as the guild seemed to have high standards. Any guild member who stained the name of Sabertooth with their actions would see them being severely reprimanded. In cases where the guild was disgraced then the punishment was excommunication. Defeated Sabertooth members could be humiliated and driven out of their ranks for losing against a foe.

Following Jiemma's exile, the guild's approach to operating was changed where they came to value one another as well as the bonds of friendship.

Sabertooth's guild building is located within the city of Gazania, a town within in the Eastern area of Fiore. The town appears to be located in a rocky area, with some mountains sitting not far from it. The building is identified by a large banner, covered in lines and sporting light edges, which bears the guild's symbol, held up by a horizontal staff secured via a chain to a metal ring, adorned by fang-like protrusions, which tops the high pole sustaining the emblem. Sabertooth's headquarters itself appears to be a very large complex consisting of several structures joined together, with some of them even sitting on top of the others, generating an imposing, elongated structure vaguely reminiscent of an odd pyramid adorned by a multitude of facades, windows and pillars, as well as by some pointed towers protruding upwards from its upper part. Topping the whole structure is a massive statue portraying the animal which is the guild's namesake, a saber-toothed cat with its jaws open.
