History

Doctor Doom and his Seven Daggers in X-Men v6 #29.

Seven Daggers of Latveria were a team of Mutants gathered together by Doctor Doom. He had created them after noticing the activities of Professor Charles Xavier who had been manoeuvring pharmaceutical companies and operated through various shell corporations. From these actions, he determined that Xavier alongside his old friend Magneto were looking to establish a Mutant nation that would become Krakoa. In anticipation, Doom looked to gather his own band of Mutants to serve him. In the course of a year, he came to train them to serve their nation whilst warning them that Xavier's nation of Krakoa would look to abduct them. (X-Men v6 #29)

Following the establishment of Krakoa, Doctor Doom contacted Xavier telepathically and announced that Latveria would not be recognising the newly formed Mutant nation. In fact, he believed that Xavier's endeavours would ultimately end in ruin. (X-Men v6 #29)

Later on, the organization known as Orchis staged a massive attack against Krakoa where they destroyed the Mutant country causing its people to scatter. (X-Men v6 #29)

Overview

In appearance, the Seven Daggers of Latveria were a team of superpowered Mutants who draped themselves in the colours of the flag of their native country. (X-Men v6 #29)

They saw themselves first as Latverians and then as Mutants where they willingly served Doctor Doom. As such, they never saw themselves enslaved and considered each other to be free. (X-Men v6 #29)

Doctor Doom also created his own version of a Cerebro-style helmet allowing him to amplify his thoughts and speak to others into their minds. (X-Men v6 #29)
