Biography

Silik was a male member of the Suliban species where he came to head a faction known as the Cabal that had ties to a mysterious benefactor from the 28th century. This individual had used the Suliban as operatives in the past to help fight in the Temporal Cold War with Silik being one of their chief agents in the 22nd century. (ENT: Broken Bow) Cabal agents were supplied with a number of genetic enhancements that was both a sign of status and used as a means to achieve their objectives. (ENT: Cold Front)

In 2151, Silik was given orders to apprehend a Klingon courier named Klaang who carried information that could help avert a civil war in the Klingon Empire. This saw him dispatching two assassins for the task but they failed when their quarry crashed on Earth and they died in the attempt to eliminate him. The chain of events resulted in the Earth Starfleet launching the NX-01 Enterprise on its maiden voyage under Captain Jonathan Archer where they looked to return the Klingon to his homeworld of Qo'noS. The Suliban Cabal then launched an attack where they managed to successfully capture Klaang but the humans performed a successful rescue mission of the courier. As a result, Silik and his Suliban operatives came to fail in their assigned mission. (ENT: Broken Bow)

Silik was punished by having his heightened sense of vision removed. For his next mission, Silik, disguised as part of a group of pilgrims on a journey to the "Great Plume of Agosoria", boarded Enterprise with the intent to acquire a high-tech device from the future located in Crewman Daniels' secured room. During the course of the mission, Silik prevented the imminent destruction of the Enterprise by a bolt of plasma lightning. Nonetheless, he once again failed to complete his mission when the device he was supposed to bring back was destroyed by Captain Archer. Fortunately for himself, Silik was able to escape to a waiting Suliban cell ship. In 2152, Silik once again encountered the Enterprise when he is ordered to bring back Captain Archer after the Captain had boarded a cloaked Suliban Ship and brought back several valuable data disks. During this encounter, Enterprise is engulfed by a swarm of Suliban ships and is ordered to surrender. At the verge of complying with the surrender order, Archer is whisked away by the temporal agent named Daniels to the 31st century. Meanwhile, Enterprise is boarded and occupied by Silik and his powers. The crew of the Enterprise eventually manages to liberate itself by taking Silik hostage.

The most daunting encounter between Silik and Captain Archer occurs when Silik and his mysterious employer from the future inform the Captain that the alien attack on Earth that killed 7 million humans was mounted by the Xindi with much help from another mysterious faction in the Temporal Cold War. Furthermore, Archer learns that a much bigger attack on Earth is planned by the Xindi in the near future. This substantive information leads Enterprise and her crew to a mission to find the as-yet unknown Xindi and avert the destruction of Earth.

Silik's final mission takes place in 2154 when he stealthly boards the Enterprise, which is being diverted to 1944 Earth (by Crewman Daniels) after its mission to stop the Xindi is successfully completed. After being taken prisoner by the Enterprise, Silik agrees to aid Captain Archer in helping stop Vosk -- another faction in the Temporal Cold War -- from building a "temporal conduit" (time machine). Although the Archer-Silik duo is successful, Silik is shot and killed by a Nazi guard at the grounds of the temporal conduit. With his dying words, Silik commented that he would have preferred to die fighting Archer, but that the captain was still a worthy opponent.
