Tanar'ri

The tanar'ri are the chief breed of demon in the Abyss, and paragons of chaotic evil. They are the more numerous of the sides engaged in the Blood War against the baatezu, but the lawful fiends' superior organization counters that advantage. There are numerous sub-species of tanar'ri, many of which evolve from weaker members of the species, but some of which are specially shaped by Abyssal Lords or evil deities.
