The Tree of Life is a massive tree that features in the new Prince of Persia.

History

The Tree was created by the god of light Ormazd to serve as a means of defeating his dark brother Ahriman When Ahriman and his armies marched into the beautiful gardens it was located in, they became trapped within the tree which served to contain the darkness. A temple was present beneath the tree and the mortal warrior tribe known as the Ahuras were charged with preventing anyone from releasing him.

Ten thousand years later, Elika's father made a deal with Ahriman who resurrected his dead daughter. She later attempted to prevent Ahriman's release with the aid of the Prince. Her father battled the Prince but was defeatd. Angered, he struck down the tree of light on the seal that kept Ahriman trapped. This act allowed the god of darkness's evil to spread and freed parts of his army into the garden.

The first act of Ahriman was to order his Corrupted generals to poison the fertile lands that fed the Tree of Life in order to weaken it and secure his complete release.

Overview

In appearance, the Tree of Life was a massive tree located in a blissful garden that was hidden in the deserts of the world. It stood over a large temple which housed its guardians as well as the seal that kept Ahriman trapped. Over the seal was a smaller plant which glowed with light and prevented Ahriman's power from seeping into the world.

The fertile grounds were regions in the desert which were constructed thousands of years ago to feed the Tree with energy that kept Ahriman's darkness at bay. Outside the temple where the Tree stood was a large map embedded into the ground which served as a means of navigating the oasis. It showed the four parts of the city which were; the Citadel, the Veil, the Palace and the City of Light. These four areas had a fertile ground present in them and mapped twin constellations for Ormazd and Ahriman.

The grounds were constructed by the Ahuras and served as a way of protecting them from Ahriman's warriors.
