Uroburos (Resident Evil)
Uroburos was a virus that featured in Resident Evil 5.
History
This virus was created by Albert Wesker formerly of the Umbrella Corporation after the demise of that organization. After learning about his origins, he decided to bring about the process of evolution within the Human race and become a god. To accomplish this, he sought the assistance of Excella Gionne of the TriCell Pharmaceutical Company to breed a perfect virus. The organism that became known as the Uroburos virus was brought about by two other factors; namely the Progenitor Virus and the altered biology of Jill Valentine.
The refinement of the Uroburos project brought about numerous problems at first. Initially, the virus developed from the Progenitor flower proved to be too toxic for Albert Wesker's plans as this early Uroburos brought about a quick death rather then bring about accelerated evolution in a Human being. However, progress was made Jill Valentine's biology was studied and showed unusual abnormalities within her. Inside her body had a mutated version of the T-Virus with the cure she used only left her infection in a dormant state. Her time in cryogenic sleep brought about the reactivation of the virus and its disappearance from her body. However, a number of anti-bodies had developed within her which countered the effects of the virus. Through these anti-bodies, Wesker's research managed to find a means to make Uroburos less poisonous and thus allowed potential carriers to live long enough to become usable bio-weapons.
