Warp Digivolution is a phenomenon that occurs when a great amount of energy is given to a Digimon, causing the Digimon to digivolve immediately to its Mega form, usually bypassing one or more levels on the way.

Warp Digivolution was first used when the original Digidestined had no Digimon powerful enough to defeat VenomMyotismon. Tai and Matt then allowed themselves to be struck by Arrows of Hope and Light, fired by Angemon and Angewomon. This caused the boy's digimon, Agumon and Gabumon to go straight to their Mega forms of WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon without going to Champion or Ultimate levels first. The two Megas then destroyed VenomMyotismon, then de-digivolved. From then on, the two Digimon Warp-Digivolved quite often.

The second time it occured was when the second group of Digidestined battled Kokomon, the runaway Digimon belonging to Willis. Angemon and Angewomon used the power generated by Kerpymon (also a Mega) to become Seraphimon and Magnadramon. The two forms released the Golden Digieggs, then, exhausted, returned to their Rookie forms. Angemon and Angewomon never Warp-Digivolved after this.

The third and final time this happened, all of the original Digidestined's Digimon relinquished their digivolving powers in order to let Paildramon digivolve to Imperialdramon in order to get rid of SkullSatamon. It worked, and the villain was quickly obliterated. Imperialdramon continued using this power up until the end.
