Yalan Gur

Yalan Gur was a Green Lantern Corps member who patrolled Sector 2814. After Yalan was nearly slain by a yellow creature, the Guardians of the Universe decided to remove his power ring's vulnerability to yellow as an experiment.

Quickly corrupted by his new-found invulnerability, Yalan Gur began to make plans to reshape his sector to his liking. Deciding that humanity might become a threat, the dragon-like alien attacked ancient China, the most advanced civilization present at the time. However, the Guardians changed his ring again, making it vulnerable to wood, so that the Chinese villagers' weapons could harm him with ease. Dying, he and his lantern fell into Earth's atmosphere and merged with the Starheart, landing as a green meteor in China. His ring's wooden vulnerability was carried over into the Starheart's energies, and in turn was inherited by Alan Scott's power ring.
