During the Spider-Island incident, she came to gain spider-like abilities like many people in New York City. This meant that she gained many of the same abilities as Spider-Man. (Amazing Spider-Man v1 #671) Her powers were the result of a virus where the manifestation of superpowers meant that she was in stage 2 of the infection. Later on, the demonic realm of Limbo once again impacted the real world that took the form of a bracelet that resided on her left arm. She had the ability to manifest a power for a short period of time. According to Mary Jane, it was akin to a slot machine where each time it activated she gained a random ability for a short period of time. In some cases, she gained a good power but in others she could get bad luck and ability that was not very useful power. (Mary Jane & Black Cat v1 #1) During her rolls, sometimes the magical slots could manifest a skull. A single skull meant a less useful power and two skulls meant an even worse outcome. At first, Mary Jane had never had three skulls in her rolls and worried about such an outcome when she was hit by bad luck. (Mary Jane & Black Cat v1 #2)

During her time with these powers, she was provided a special costume by Felicia Hardy. It was aerodynamic and said to be nearly indestructible with it being tailor made to complement Mary Jane's unique 'jackpot' powers along with related tech. (Amazing Spider-Man v6 #31) Paul Rabin later developed a power limiter for her wristband that helped prevent bad rolls from affecting Mary Jane. This meant it was safer to use as it minimised the chances of Mary Jane rolling weaker power sets. In addition, it prevented Mary Jane from rolling three skulls that was believed to bring about certain death for her. At the same time, it also reduced her best power outcomes as a result. During the Spider-Island incident, she came to gain spider-like abilities like many people in New York City. This meant that she gained many of the same abilities as Spider-Man. As such, Mary Jane had the ability to scale vertical surfaces by adhering to the surface. (Amazing Spider-Man v1 #670) She also gained superhuman strength as well as agility and the ability to shoot organic webbing from her wrists. (Amazing Spider-Man v1 #671) Her powers were the result of a virus where the manifestation of superpowers meant that she was in stage 2 of the infection. The progress of the infection was delayed preventing her from succumbing to stage 3 with this being attributed due to her being in close physical relationship with Peter Parker spider enhanced physiology. (Amazing Spider-Man v1 #672)

Among the various powers she gained as Jackpot included:

(Jackpot v1 #1)

At one point, she operated a nightclub that was called MJ. (Amazing Spider-Man v1 #686) It was originally owned by the Vulture until his arrest. (Amazing Spider-Man v1 #675) This was until Mary Jane bought the site that was located in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. (Amazing Spider-Man v1 #686)
