Lord Slug

Lord Slug was an ancient and evil Namekian. Like Piccolo and Kami, he did not know of his Namekian origins because he had left Planet Namek as a small child when it was hit by destructive storms. Slug became the leader of a sunless, mobile planet, making himself king of several races of aliens that could not stand either warmth or sunlight. Their mobile home, looking like a barren asteroid, nearly collided with Earth. In order to save Earth, Goku and Krillin flew out to meet the planet and destroy it, but Slug made it off the planet in his ship and landed on Earth.

To replace the home that they had lost, Slug decided that he would take over Earth and convert it using a special climate-altering satellite that his followers launched into orbit. It spread a dark cloud over the Earth, blocking out the sun and making it habitable for Slug's minions. During all of this, Slug, who was very, very old (and hated it very, very much), learned about the Dragon Balls from Bulma. Reading her mind for information regarding them, he sent his minions Angila, Medamatcha, and Dordaba to collect them. An unknown amount of time later, perhaps days, they had managed to gather all seven balls and brought them back to Slug, who summoned the Eternal Dragon Shenron and wished for eternal youth. With that accomplished and his power greatly increased, the younger Slug continued his conquest of Earth.

Of course, Goku and Piccolo show up to ruin Slug's plans, defeating nearly all his warriors. The youthful Slug decided to take on the Earth's last defenders himself, powering up so great that he transformed and grew into a Super Namek. Slug came very close to defeating Goku in this form, until Piccolo remembered that Gohan's whistling had driven him (Piccolo) crazy earlier. After ripping off his own ears, he screamed at Gohan to whistle that song, which the boy did, and threw Slug into a screaming fit on the ground. (Namek ears are so huge that their hearing is acute far beyond even that of a Saiyans; when Slug increased his size to that of a giant, his ears grew several hundred times larger as well, making the whistling hurt worse.) Goku then finished Slug with a Spirit Bomb (Genki-Dama), which also destroyed the climate converter, returning the Earth's atmosphere to normal.

A fake Lord Slug was created by Dr. Raichi to battle Goku and company during his attempt to wipe out all life on Earth with Destron Gas; he was quickly destroyed, after being disabled again by Gohan's whistling.
