Together, the pair arrived on the resource rich world of New Texas in order to steal a supply of Kerium. The crash apparently killed both Hex and Skuzz both their actions attracted the attention of the supernatural entity known as [[Stampede (BraveStarr)|Stampede]] who desired a servant for his evil goals. With magic, Tex Hex was resurrected and empowered with dark magic to serve his new master. He used his new power to resurrect Outlaw Skuzz to serve him as they brought a new dark reign to New Texas. Unknown to Hex at the time, McBride survived and was rescued by a medical ship but he had a piece of Kerium in his hand with news of the find spreading to the rest of the galaxy. The news of the resource rich planet attracted the attention of the wider galaxy with countless settlers heading towards New Texas. These included miners, prospectors, traders along with outlaws thus leading to the good as well as the bad to the best and the worst arriving at the world. Such a development played into Stampede's plans as he sought to conquer the world for his own motivations and the large influx of beings provided him a pool of servants.
