The Big Man is the name of several characters in the Marvel Universe.

Big Man (Frederick Foswell, Junior)

Frederick Foswell, Junior was the blonde haired son of Frederick Foswell, Senior and brother to Janice Foswell. After his fathers death, he came to believe the words of J. Jonah Jameson that Spider-Man was ultimately responsible for his fathers death and that his dad was not a criminal. This saw him devote his life to listening to Jameson's words whilst plotting his revenge against Spider-Man. He ultimately decided to act when Jameson began to praise Spider-Man and call him a hero where he believed that Jonah had been blackmailed or brainwashed. Thus, Freddie hired the services of Arcade and developed a giant mechanical suit formed in the appearance of the Big Man whilst he orchestrated a plot to murder Spider-Man. • The concept of the Big Man was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko where it made its first appearance in Amazing Spider-Man v1 #10 (March, 1964).

• In The Spectacular Spider-Man, the Big Man was a code name for an underworld crime boss who appeared in the setting of the animated television series. It was first used by Tombstone who managed crime operations that were being affected by Spider-Man. He was later overthrown by the Green Goblin who proceeds to become the new Big Man of crime.
