The Enchantress is a female comic supervillain who features in Marvel Comics.

Biography

Amora was a female Asgardian goddess who was native to the realm of Asgard. (Journey into Mystery v1 #103)

In Asgard, the All-Father Odin was displeased at his son Thor Odinson's dalliance with the mortal Jane Foster. It was then that Loki suggested that maybe if Thor met someone more beautiful then he would abandon his pursuit of the human woman. Odin then thought of the Enchantress as a possible alternative with Loki seeking her out and giving the command of the All-Father for her to win the heart of Donald Blake which would gain Thor's love as well in the process. The Executioner had long courted the love of the Enchantress but she had rejected him but often called on his services as a warrior. (Journey into Mystery v1 #103)

Powers and abilities

As an Asgardian, the Enchantress was a god who was skilled in the art of sorcery. (Journey into Mystery v1 #103)

She often gained the services of the Executioner who wanted to win her love and said he would battle all of Asgard for her. (Journey into Mystery v1 #103)

Notes

• The Enchantress was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby where she made her first appearance in Journey into Mystery v1 #103 (April, 1964).

Alternate Versions

• In Thor v2 #68 (2003), an alternate version of Amora was shown to reside in the world of the Reigning that was designated as Earth-3515. When Thor became the All-Father, he decided to move his people to Earth and enforce his brutal reign as Lord Thor of Earth. During this time, Amora declared her love for him and he accepted her in turn with her becoming Thor's wife along with bearing him a son named Magni.

• In The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Amora the Enchantress appeared as an antagonist in the animated television series where she was voiced by actor Kari Wahlgren.
• In Avengers Assemble, Amora the Enchantress appeared as an antagonist in the animated television series starting from the episode "Avengers No More" where she was voiced by actor Fryda Wolff.
• In Marvel Future Avengers, Enchantress appeared in the setting of the anime television series where she was voiced by Japanese actor Ayumi Yonemaru and English actor Kari Wahlgren in the dub.
