Biography
Dawn Marie Summers
In reality, she was originally a mystical relic called the Key that was a concentration of living energy capable of shattering the veil between dimensions. It was in the care of the Order of Dagon who looked to protect it from the hell goddess Glorificus who intended to use it to escape Earth to return to her home dimension. In 2000, the monks felt that they were failing in their duty as they were incapable of protecting it from their foe. Thus, they used magic to transform the Key into human form and sent it to the Slayer for protection from Glory. (Episode: Blood Ties)
