Biography
R'Klll was a female member of the Skrull race who was a member of the House of T'Riss. (Fantastic Four Annual v1 #18) It was noted that her father had been the former emperor of the Great Skrull Empire. This was until a young Skrull named Emperor Dorrek VII slew him and took the throne for himself. To secure his position as Emperor, he came to marry R'Klll who he took as his wife leading to her ruling as empress of the empire. (Fantastic Four v1 #206) She later came to have a daughter with him who was named Anelle where she served as a princess of the Skrull empire. (Fantastic Four v1 #257)
Later on, a Skrull armada was sent against Xandar but was destroyed at the hands of the Prime Thoran. Upon learning of this, Dorrek VII believed that fighting such a foe could result in his own death. This led to him ordering a retreat in order to preserve his own life with R'Klll deciding to use this as an opportunity to murder her husband. She then killed him and declared him to be a traitor to the empire whilst she took the throne as empress. It was then that she ordered a renewed assault against Xandar and sent commands for reinforcements to arrive for the invasion. (Fantastic Four v1 #209)
She and the Supreme Intelligence came to agree to end the Kree-Skrull War based on a months long fight on Earth's Moon between the Skrull warlord Raksor and the Kree colonel Bel-Dann. The pair were originally assigned to the planetoid to observe the honor duel between the X-Men and the Shi'ar Imperial Guard to decide the fate of Jean Grey. (Fantastic Four Annual v1 #18)
Afterwards, the empire detected the coming of Galactus with the Skrulls decided to cloak their galaxy as per their practice to protect themselves against the World Devourer. However, on this occasion, the Herald of Galactus Nova managed to bypass them and uncovered the Skrull throneworld. The Skrull fleet was then deployed to fight him off but they were unable to stop the cosmic being who began the process of consuming the planet. The empress and her daughter were unable to escape and had no option but to face their death. (Fantastic Four v1 #257)
In that moment, her daughter Anelle confided that the child she bore with Mar-Vell was still alive as the Princess had secretly sent her son to live on Earth. Upon hearing this, R'Klll felt a renewed sense of hope for their people and thought of the scheme she could achieve in bringing both the Skrull and Kree together. This led to her activating a translocation device and teleporting only herself away from the Throneworld thus leaving her daughter to die as Galactus consumed the planet. Teleporting to a Skrull world, she then had her subjects use Power Skrull technology to make her take the form of a long dead Kree warrior named Talnath whose details were recorded in their files. Thus, she gained her strength and speed whilst enhancements were made to mask her Skrullian DNA whereupon she killed the scientists so that no one would know of her continued existence. She then went to Hala in the guise of Talnath where she faked her stories of her escape back to the Kree. (Empyre: Aftermath Avengers v1 #1)
