Afterwards, an Intergang scientist was responsible for creating a thinking computer named K.A.R.L. 1 that was based on Mother Box technology. They came to eliminate the scientist responsible for creating it to prevent it from being used against them. However, K.A.R.L. 1 was stolen by members of the 100 where Vince Adams intended to use it to plot the demise of the vigilante Thorn. (Superman's Girl Friend, Lois Lane v1 #115)
A later plot by them involved the hijacking of the telescope at the Olympus Observatory with the intention of converting it into a plasma cannon capable of channeling power from distant orange-type stars. Their plot was stopped though by the intervention of Superman. (Superman v1 #297)
Post-Crisis
Following the Crisis on Infinite Earths, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events. Intergang
Clark Kent came to write an expose on Intergang and revealing its activities to the public with the Daily Planet looking to publish the article. Morgan Edge who was connected to the criminal conglomerate came to worry that this would reveal his ties to Intergang and planned to have Kent murdered. (Superman v2 #28)
Intergang sought to expand its operation's where they opened a franchise in Bludhaven and had been keeping a low profile at Metropolis. (Action Comics v1 #771)
When Superman temporarily lost his powers, Intergang was noted to had grown in power in Metropolis. After his return, the Man of Steel made the criminal organization a priority and targeted their operations. (Superman v1 #654)
In an effort to further expand from North America, representatives from Intergang offered money and a woman to Black Adam of Kahndaq. However, after seeing their treatment of the woman, he refused and killed the Intergang members. (52 v1 #3) They hired Giganta to attack La Dama in an effort to eliminate her so that they could take her territory. (Blue Beetle v8 #19) One of their expansions overseas involved paying bribes to a small warlord to clear the way in the region of Zambesi for their operations. (Vixen: Return of the Lion v1 #1)
At some point, Intergang established a presence in Gotham City much to the annoyance of the Penguin who allied himself with Batman to remove their presence in the city. However, Batman himself disappeared in the midst of the crisis involving the Black Glove leading to Cobblepot breaking his ties with Batman for seemingly abandoning him. (Batman and the Outsiders v2 #11) At the Iceberg Lounge, Kirk Langstrom transformed into Man-Bat where he attacked the Intergang people at the location and told them to pass a message to Johnny Stitches namely for them to leave Gotham. In that moment, Vigilante attacked one of the clubs run by the criminal gang and intended to eliminate Stitches himself but was stopped by Spoiler. This was because Spoiler had been watching Intergang in order to find the whereabouts of the now missing Batman. (Batman and the Outsiders v2 #13)
Post-Flashpoint
Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.
Overview
In appearance, Intergang was a criminal conglomerate in a wide range of illegal operations from extortion to assassination. (Superman v2 #28)
It was said that Intergang's hired killers never miss at their job. (Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen v1 #133) Within Intergang, they had divisions included Camouflage Squads that used suits that refracted light and used special heat along with sound baffles that rendered them effectively invisible who were virtually undetectable. (Superman v1 #654)
Sigma-Guns were personal weapons given by Apokolips to the criminals among Intergang and it was said that no one could survive a blast from it. (Forever People v1 #1)
A creation of the crime syndicate was a machine called K.A.R.L. 1 that was a thinking computer built from superior technology that made it think better than a human being. It was actually built of the same technology that produced Mother Box though Intergang's version was not as compact. One of their estates was noted to overlook the Metropolis River.
