The Avatars were a team of supervillains that were gathered together by the Mandarin.
This team of minions were dispatched to attack Hong Kong where they were defeated by Force Works leading to them retreating from the battlefield. Despite this being the case, War Machine and Iron Man were both captured by the Mandarin where the Avatars witnessed the heroes being tortured by their master. They later failed to stop the Century's attack leading to the Mandarin entering the battle himself to slay War Machine along with the Century.
