Overview

The Spartax Secret Service was an intelligence gathering agency for the empire and deployed spies to gather useful information on enemies. (Legendary Star-Lord v1 #3)

Certain worlds served as dependencies in the Spartoi empire. (Guardians of the Galaxy v2 #7)

Notes

  • The Spartoi were created by Chris Claremont and John Byrne where they made their first appearance in Marvel Preview v1 #11 (June, 1977).

In other media

Television

  • In Avengers Assemble, the Spartoi were mentioned in passing in the episode "The Arsenal" when alien fighters began to invade Earth. J.A.R.V.I.S. would inform Tony Stark that the metals on the crafts did not match Kronan, Chitauri or Spartoi design.
  • In Guardians of the Galaxy, the Spartax were first mentioned in the animated series episode "Road to Knowhere". Star-Lords Element Gun and the box container for the Cosmic Seed both were of Spartax design which only a memeet of that race could operate. Peter Quill learnt that he was half Spartax after bringing the box to Knowhere to the Broker.
  • In Guardians of the Galaxy, the Spartoi were introduced in the animated series as Spartaxians in the episode "Don't Stop Believin'". They were an advanced alien civilization who appeared similar to humans and based on their homeworld of Spartax.
