After Ares death, his hold over their prison broke allowing Grail to free herself where she journeyed to the Amazon city on Themyscira and toppled Hippolyta. She then took her place on the throne with [[Nubia (DC)|Nubia]] seemingly siding with her alongside other Amazon warriors where she promised them that they would conquer the world. Hippolyta, however, refused to relinquish the crown and it was then that Wonder Woman along with her allies arrived where they battled their kin to stop Grail. She was stated to be the holder of the Anti-Life Equation that resided in her mind leading to her hiding on Earth from Darkseid's forces who sought to claim it for their master so that he could take control of the universe.
