History

Origin

Konohagakure (木ノ葉隠れの里, Konohagakure no Sato, English TV: "Village Hidden in the Leaves" or "Hidden Leaf Village", Literally meaning: Village Hidden by Tree Leaves) was a hidden village of shinobis situated in the Land of Fire in the Ninja World. Its origins were traced back to the Warring States Period when ninja were organised into small mercenary clans that knew nothing but battle. In that time, the two strongest ninja clans were the Senju and Uchiha who had fought another across their entire history. Looking to end the conflict, Hashirama Senju used his position as leader of his clan to broker a truce with the Uchiha by speaking to his childhood friend Madara Uchiha who had headed his people. The resultant peace led to the allies along with any affiliated clan forming the first shinobi village that was Konohagakure whose name was given by Madara himself. In time, other villages began to form as they followed Konoagakure's example leading to an end to the Warring States Period.

Naruto

In the midst of the tournament, the sand ninja and their hidden allies the sound ninja betrayed the shinobi of the hidden leaf where they enacted a large scale attack on Konohagakure.

Upon arriving in the village, the Lady Tsunade was inducted as Konogakure's new leader and she took the mantle of the Fifth Hokage.

After Sasuke Uchiha departed the village for Otagakure, the Hokage decided to assemble a makeshift ninja team with the purpose of recovering him and preventing him from becoming a host body for Orochimaru. The team was led by newly elevated Chunin Shikamaru Nara who took talented lower ranking ninja on the mission to intercept the Sound Four ninja who were escorting Sasuke back to their village. Unknown to the team, the Hokage contacted the Village Hidden in the Sands about a joint operation to thwart the scheme of Orochimaru with the two villages forming a temporary alliance.

Next Generations

During the Chunnin Exams, the contestants managed to reach the final round of the matches when they were interrupted by the arrival of members of the Otsutsuki Clan. These horned celestial beings had come in order to claim the chakra of the Nine-Tails from the Hokage leading to a battle with Naruto. Due to civilians being around, Naruto was unable to unleash his full power leading to his capture with the village attempting to deal with the aftermath of the devastation. In this time, Sasuke along with the other Kage as well as Boruto Uzumaki went forth to help find and rescue Naruto from the Otsutsuki Clan.
