The U.S.S. Fleming was a United Federation of Planets starship, Wambundu-class, NCC-20316. The ship was feared to have fallen prey to hijackers, but it had actually been disabled by a Hekaran verteron mine. The U.S.S. Enterprise-D discovered it, but a subspace rift opened soon after the Fleming was found and entrapped the ship. The Enterprise was able to rescue the crew, but not the ship, which was destroyed.
