The Spencer Rain is a luxury ocean liner owned by the Umbrella Corporation. It is, apparently, named for Umbrella co-founder Ozwell E. Spencer (similar to the Spencer Mansion). The Spencer Rain is specifically for transportation of important executives and cargo across the Atlantic Ocean from Europe to the United States and back again.
In Dead Aim, while carrying a cargo consisting of various BOWs and several passengers, the Spencer Rain was hijacked by a group of terrorists led by former Umbrella bigwig Morpheus D. Duvall. Morpheus unleashed the T-Virus aboard the ship, turning the passengers and crew (not to mention his own subordinates) into zombies. A short time later, undercover agents Bruce McGivern and Fong Ling boarded the Spencer Rain to stop Morpheus, and a short time after that, the Spencer Rain crashed into the rocky shore of an unnamed island where Morpheus had his headquarters in an abandoned Umbrella facility and sank.
