Joanna Cargill is a female comic character who features in Marvel Comics.

Biography

Origin

Joanna Cargill was a female Mutant born in the modern age who was born the daughter of a soldier and a church going woman. She was the second child of the family with her having an older brother named Gareth who her father proud of to carry on the legacy. Joanna's father was noted to had been a soldier and it as known that he never wanted another child especially a daughter. Thus, she was considered an accident who was born premature and was too sickly and weak to help around in the house. During her childhood, her father would always hit her and be abusive to her with Joanna's mother never stopping him. Her brother joined the military but died in service with this causing Joanna's father to lash out at his daughter in a drunken rage where he blamed her for his son's death. In one such incident, he nearly beat her to death where in fear she begged him to stop which was when her powers first manifested causing her to punch back where the strength of her blow killed him. Accidentally murdering her father, she decided to flee from the family home rather than be caught in the act. (X-Men Legacy v1 #268)

After the establishment of the nation of Krakoa, all Mutants were given a home on the living island that was to be the home of their people. During this time, they were responsible for heading a reconstituted S.W.O.R.D. program that was funded by them and staffed by Mutants. Among them included Frenzy who was to serve as an ambassador in dealing with various alien races. Those she dealt with included the Skrull Paibok with the two regularly sparring with one another. (S.W.O.R.D. v2 #1)

Though enveloped by Symbiotes, she was able to fight their attempt to control her and broke free from them. This came at a critical time as a Symbiote-infected Cable was under the control of Knull where he was using his powers against Eden Fesi. Frenzy freeing herself allowed her to catch Cable by surprise where she ripped off his cybernetic arm thus preventing him from using his bodyslide ability. This allowed Manifold to perform a powerful attack involving a small piece of the sun against his opponent thus freeing Cable from Knull's control after destroying the Symbiote that was corrupting him. Joanna claimed that nothing could hurt her and that if anything tried then she would hurt it back hard. (S.W.O.R.D. v2 #4)

Frenzy came to follow the teachings of Magnus and sought to purge the world of the genetically impure. (Uncanny X-Men v1 #298)

Her mother was said to had been religious and went to church though never stopped Joanna's father from hitting their daughter. Instead, her mother said that the meek would inherit the Earth though Joanna believed this to be a lie. (X-Men Legacy v1 #268)

She had an older brother named Gareth where she wanted to be like him. (X-Men Legacy v1 #268)

Frenzy had hinted that Cyclops was the only man that she had ever truly loved and that in another world that she might have become Cable's step-mother. (S.W.O.R.D. v2 #4)
