Biography
The Living Brain was an advanced electronic computer designed by Dr. Petty on behalf of the International Computing Machines Corporation. Upon his creation, the machine was taken to a technology demonstration at Midtown High School. (Amazing Spider-Man v1 #8)
Despite his destruction, the Living Brain was rebuilt by Anna Maria Marconi where he was now a digital entity but retained his old body for nostalgia purposes. He stayed at Horizon University where he moved to protect Anna Maria when she discovered that Professor Elliot Tolliver was actually Otto Octavius. The Brain stood down when a greater threat emerged in the form of Terrax with Octavius equipping himself as the Superior Spider-Man to deal with the danger. (Superior Spider-Man v2 #1)

The Brain was built to be the greatest mechanical brain ever made that was built in the form of a human body to dramatize its powers. Its computer had the ability to think that contained more knowledge than any other brain be it human or mechanical. Thus, he contained a vast storehouse of information allowing him to answer questions fed to him. The Living Brain was unlike the brain of a normal human as all data fed to it was never forgotten. As a result, it was considered smarter than a human being. Initially, the Brain provided answers in the form of mathematical code symbols. The legs had ball bearing rollers enabling it to move upon command whilst the arms were constructed to perform simple actions. The electronic circuits could adjust his body as fast as he could think allowing him to exert counter pressure to that of an opponent to nullify their powers. (Amazing Spider-Man v1 #8)

- In Spider-Man, the Living Brain appeared in the 2017 animated television series in the episode "Brain Drain" and "The Living Brain" where he was voiced by actor Scott Menville. A robot resembling the Living Brain was also seen in a toy shop in the episode "The Return of Hydro-Man" Part 2.
