Biography

Origin

Sasuke Uchiha.

Sasuke Uchiha (Japanese: うちは サスケ, Hepburn: Uchiha Sasuke) was the son of Fugaku Uchiha and Mikoto Uchiha as well as had an older brother named Itachi Uchiha with their family being a member of the Uchiha Clan in the Ninja World. As the second and youngest son of Mikoto and Fugaku Uchiha, they named him after Sasuke Sarutobi in the hopes that he would someday be just as strong of a shinobi. Sasuke grew up in the shadow of his older brother, Itachi, a natural prodigy who many in the Uchiha clan and the village would constantly compare Sasuke and any of his accomplishments to. Sasuke himself adored Itachi, never passing up an opportunity to spend time with him. Although Itachi welcomed his company, letting Sasuke watch him train and taking him on adventures into the forests, Itachi in return rarely helped Sasuke himself become a better shinobi; when asked, he would often instead poke Sasuke's forehead and promise to do so some other time. Sasuke found this annoying, but didn't allow it to blemish his high opinion of his brother. On entering the Konoha Ninja Academy, Sasuke proved to be the standout of his class, consistently getting top grades. However, he could never meet the same milestones Itachi had set, resulting in their father paying Sasuke little attention. Aware of this neglect, Itachi, despite being increasingly busy, tried to stand in for their father by giving Sasuke the recognition he craved, at times even blackmailing Fugaku to spend time with Sasuke. As time went on, Itachi started becoming distant with and cold towards their family, culminating in a falling out with much of the Uchiha clan on their suspicion that he'd killed his best friend, Shisui Uchiha. Sasuke did not understand the reason for this, but he didn't mind the side-effect: his father began taking an interest in his development. Fugaku taught Sasuke how to perform the Great Fireball Technique, which he mastered in a week. Fugaku stated his pride in Sasuke for this accomplishment, but at the same time encouraged him not to follow in Itachi's footsteps.

Upon entering the family home, he found everyone dead and saw his brother Itachi where he warned him about the death of the clan. However, Itachi then attacked him and wounded Sasuke where his brother revealed that he had been responsible for killing the entire Uchiha clan. A shocked and terrified Sasuke could do nothing with Itachi stating that he had only acted as a caring brother in order to cultivate his younger siblings talents. Itachi said that this was because he felt that Sasuke had the ability to manifest the Mangekyo Sharigan. However, he said that Sasuke had to kill his closest friend in order to attain this power. Thus, Itachi left his brother alive as he said that he was not worth killing and that once he attained power that he should face him again in the future. Before leaving, Itachi encouraged Sasuke to hate him, to desire revenge, and to gain power from that. Sasuke immediately followed through, pursuing Itachi and using his newly-awakened Sharingan to attack him. The attack failed and Sasuke passed out, but not before glimpsing Itachi crying; Sasuke would forget this had happened for many years.

He then travelled to the family home where he went to the hidden basement that held the family jutsu as Itachi had told him.

Sasuke, now one of the last surviving Uchiha, was alone. He spent the first few days after the massacre wandering his family's compound, reflecting on the people who were now gone, killed by Itachi. Sasuke decided to do what Itachi had instructed and dedicated his life to vengeance, having no other interest than bringing about Itachi's death. He threw himself into his studies at the Academy, making no efforts to form friendships and ignoring all of the girls' attempts to gain his affection. One of his classmates, Naruto, disliked Sasuke's cool personality and the attention he received, and developed a one-sided rivalry in his pursuit to prove himself just as good as, if not better than, Sasuke. For his part, Sasuke thought little of Naruto and was usually annoyed by his outbursts, but would, at times, secretly smile at how hard Naruto worked because of him. Ironically, for all the attention he received, Naruto was the only person among his peers who understood Sasuke due to the painful experiences he had.

After graduating from the Academy, Sasuke came to be added to Team 7 under the leadership of Kakashi Hatake. He showed little interest in the team as his stated goal was to kill his brother Itachi.

Naruto

They were then taken to the next part of the exam which was the Forty-Fourth Training Ground (第44演習場, Daiyonjūyon Enshūjō, English TV: Training Ground 44) where each of the teams were given either a scroll of heaven and earth. The other teams were tasked with capturing the opposing scroll and those that managed to do so came to win this stage of the exam.

Whilst unconscious, he was beset upon by a nightmare over the death of his parents and his own feelings of helplessness. It was then that he was offered further power by Orochimaru if he gave in to the Cursed Seal. Sasuke then awoke where he saw a wound Sakura and intended to take revenge against the three sound ninja of Team Dosu who were responsible for the attack.

Thus, they began their training with Kakashi looking to improve Sasuke's speed to the point that he could use Hatake's chidori technique. This took a lengthy period of time to perfect with Sasuke eventually managing to learn the jutsu with the two then rushing to the arena for the next stage of the Chunnin Exam. The two managed to arrive but were late with Uchiha almost being disqualified for the match against Gaara.

In an effort to slow him down, Temari of the sand ninja decided to stay behind and fight Uchiha. Despite her talent, she was still weakened from her earlier fight with Shikamaru and was defeated though Sasuke left her alive. He continued his pursuit of Gaara where he caught up with the sand ninja. This time Kankurō decided to delay Sasuke whilst he asked Temari to take Gaara away to safety. Though ready to fight, their conflict was interrupted by Shino who wanted to defeat Kankurō himself as the sand ninja had abstained from their match during the chunin exam. This allowed Uchiha to continue his pursuit of Gaara who had regained consciousness and was keen to fight Sasuke. In the grip of his bloodlust, Gaara took on a monstrous form where he demonstrated incredible sheer power against Sasuke who struggled to match his foe. This forced him to use the chidori that dealt damage to the sand ninja but was unable to put him down. In desperation, he used the chidori one more time despite the risk it posed to his chakra reserves where he took out his foe's sand arm but Gaara simply reformed it. The fight left Sasuke helpless and he would have been killed by his opponent had Naruto and Sakura not arrived at the scene.

After regaining consciousness, he found himself in the hospital where the words of Aoi Rokushō haunted Sasuke as he could not accept being weak. This combined with the fact that Naruto defeated a foe he failed to win agaisnt in their fight. The result was that this fuelled his resentment of Naruto as he could not accept his comrade as an equal as it meant that he was weak and unable to get his revenge against Itachi. He then challenged Naruto to a fight on the roof of the hospital with the two going all out with this going to the point where both used their ultimate techniques namely the Rasengan and the Chidori. Sakura rushed into the middle of the fight to stop the pair and would have been killed had Kakashi not intervened. At first, Sasuke believed he had won their fight after seeing the damage his Chidori had done to a water tower but was shocked to see that Naruto's Rasengan had done an even greater level of damage to his target. This angered Sasuke who believed that Naruto had improved so much whilst he himself had remained static and not grown. Kakashi later apprehended Sasuke where he had a talk with the Uchiha over the use of his Chidori against a comrade. After speaking to Sasuke, Kakashi departed the scene as he told him how valuable having friends and comrades were by a shinobi's side with the quest for revenge only leading to tragedy. Immediately afterwards, Sasuke was attacked by four sound ninja who had come to test him after seeing their master Orochimaru being impressed at the Uchiha's abilities. Together, they came to overpower him and even his use of Orochimaru's curse mark was unable to give him the strength to defeat them. This convinced Sasuke that the only path to attaining the power he needed to defeat Itachi was with Orochimaru. Thus, in the cover of night, he left Konohagakure where he was confronted by Sakura who begged him to stay. However, Sasuke came to knock her out and departed the hidden leaf as he remained committed to the path of revenge.

Shippūden

With Team Kakashi defeated, he was prepared to kill them but was stopped by Orochimaru who instead wanted them to live. At first, Sasuke was ready to disregard his orders but Kabuto intervened where the two told him that they wanted the leaf to take down more members of the Akatsuki as it would make their job easier. Reluctantly, he agreed with them and the three then departed leaving their pursuers failing in their mission.

With his training complete, Sasuke felt that there was little he could learn from his sensei. Thus, he planned to murder him before he could initiate the process of transferring his essence into Sasuke. As such, he came to attack the sanin in his bed chambers leading to a battle between the pair. Orochimaru came to reveal his true form as a giant white snake but despite his powers he was unable to fight the Uchiha. Severing several of the snakes in his body, the sanin's blood released a paralytic that froze Sasuke in place allowing for Orochimaru to initiate the transfer of his essence into the host body. However, he came to find that Sasuke's prowess had grown where he used a technique similar to his brother to fight off the possession. This even extended to him using his power to absorb Orochimaru's essence into himself where he dedicated a part of his chakra to keeping him contained. Thus, Orochimaru was considered killed by his student with Kabuto watching helplessly as Sasuke departed the base to begin his quest of revenge against his brother Itachi Uchiha. This first led to him freeing Suigetsu Hōzuki whereupon they travelled to the Eastern Hideout where he recruited Karin before going to release Jūgo to bring him into the group where he named themselves Hebi (蛇). The team then went to find information on the Akatsuki so that Sasuke could hunt down Itachi but their activities drew the attention of the group. This saw Deidara battling Sasuke where he attempted to kill the Uchiha where despite his great skill and power he came to find himself unable to match the power of the Sharingan. At the conclusion of the fight, Deidara decided to use his jutsu to blow himself up in the hope of taking out his opponent with Sasuke only surviving by using the summoning jutsu to hide in the giant snake Manda (マンダ, Manda) who was placed under a genjutsu through the Sharingan. Suigetsu then use the summoning jutsu to bring back Sasuke who emerged from Manda with the giant snake bearing the brunt of the blast and thus dying from his injuries. Sasuke then went to recover from his injuries but the Hebi then took him to safety when the hidden leaf shinobi were looking to recover their former comrade.

Looking to confront his brother, he and his team were met by Kisame Hoshigaki who only allowed Sasuke to travel ahead to an old Uchiha hideout. Within the structure, the two brothers battled where Sasuke had to contend with Itachi's genjutsu though his strength had shown that he had managed to see past them. He managed to bring about several injuries to his brother who then unleashed a Tsukuyomi on him. However, Sasuke managed to break through it with this act injuring Itachi who suffered depletion in his strength as a result. The two Uchiha brothers continued their fight where they used even more of their techniques against one another. At first, Sasuke seemed to had gained an advantage until his brother used his Amaterasu technique. This forced Sasuke to use his trump card where he increased the ambient temperature outside to bring about thunder clouds in the sky as they fought on the roof of the building. With clouds being present, Sasuke was able to unleash his new Kirin technique sending a massive lightning release at Itachi. However, his brother manifested his Susanoo where an angry Sasuke in desperation began to lose control of his chakra allowing for Orochimaru to manifest. This allowed the Sannin an attempt to claim his body where he formed a giant multi-headed snake body to fight against the Susanoo. Itachi then revealed another weapon in his arsenal which was the Sword of Totsuka whose power allowed it to seal Orochimaru thus removing his presence. This left both Uchiha completely depleted of their chakra reserves with the Susanoo seemingly disappearing but Sasuke could not handle losing their fight. He then summoned a giant shuriken that he intended to slay Itachi in that moment but he had enough power to keep his shield up. This left Sasuke completely vulnerable where he was scared as he faced the chance of losing and dying as Itachi approached him. Itachi then simply whispered a few words in Sasuke's ear and tapped him as he used to do lovingly on the forehead before dying. Sasuke himself then collapsed from exhaustion and fell unconscious where he was recovered by Tobi who took him to a hidden cave. Whilst treating his wounds, Tobi claimed to actually be Madara Uchiha and that he knew all Itachi's secrets that he went on to reveal to Sasuke.

From this, he came to learn that the hidden leaf had long standing tensions with the Uchiha clan that resided within it. These resulted in a planned coup by the clan but unknown to the Uchicha that Itachi was serving as a spy for the Konohagakure elders. It was Itachi's love of the village that resulted in him following their orders in killing off his own clan. However, he could not bring himself to killing his own brother where instead he made Sasuke believe that Itachi had simply killed their clan as a test of his abilities. He gave his younger brother a sense of hate and a drive to become stronger so that he could protect himself. Thus, Itachi took the brunt of the burden for the massacre where he was labelled a rogue ninja but ensured that Sasuke would be protected in the village. This included requesting the Fourth Hokage to watch over his younger brother and threatening to reveal the truth of the incident if Danzō Shimura ever made a move against Sasuke. These revelations shocked Sasuke who took sometime to comprehend the truth but this led to his anger at the hidden leaf for the treatment of his clan. Thus, he resolved to destroy Konohagakure and reformed the Hebi into the Taka (鷹). He then allied them with the Akatsuki in acquiring the power of the Tailed-Beasts where his group was sent to get the Eight-Tails. This led to him and his team ambushing the hidden cloud's jinchuriki Killer B. He proved to be a deadly opponent to them as he made full use of the Eight-Tail's power against them to the point that even Sasuke was nearly defeated. This was until he came to use the power of the Amaterasu to nearly burn B to death where he was rendered unconscious. With him defeated, the exhausted Taka took him with hem as they brought the Tailed-Beast host to the Akatsuki. Sasuke then parted ways with the Akatsuki but whilst travelling they were confronted by the Masked Madara who was angered as the hidden leaf's jinchuriki was simply a substitution. Despite that, he had another assignment for Sasuke which was to disrupt the Kage summit was that was called by the heads of the shinobi villages. At first, Sasuke had no desire to perform the task but the Masked Madara revealed that Danzō Shimura was attending the summit with this being an opportunity for him to get his revenge.

Madara came to send White Zetsu to serve as a guide for Sasuke as he and the Taka journeyed into the Land of Iron where they evaded the patrols. Entering the summit building, they came to find Zetsu had gone missing when in reality he appeared before the Kage themselves and taunted them by saying that Sasuke had infiltrated the site. This saw the guards being deployed against him and the Taka though they were easily defeated. It was then that the Kage and their personal shinobi attendants were sent against them. This saw Sasuke unleash the power of the Susanoo as the Raikage battled him where the strength of his foe forced him to use the Amaterasu against his foe. The black flames caused the Raikage to sever his affected arm as the Kazekage arrived at the scene with this being Gaara. It was his use of the sands that allowed him to save several from the Amaterasu with Gaara attempted to appeal to Sasuke to turn away from this path of darkness he was walking down. Sasuke refused and simply brought the ceiling down on his enemies as he made deeper into the summit to the chamber holding the Kage. The confusion caused by his arrival allowed Danzō Shimura to flee the scene whilst the Mizukage looked to eliminate the young Uchiha. She managed to take the fight outside where her jutsu made the air corrosive that nearly killed Sasuke. He was only saved by the intervention of White Zetsu who created duplicates of himself that would drain another shinobi's chakra with some of this being shared with Sasuke to restore his power. With the Mizukage occupied by White Zetsu, Sasuke went into the summit chamber again only to be attacked by the Tsuchikage whose jutsu was used that seemingly killed the Uchiha. However, Sasuke survived by the intervention of the Masked Madara who had the wounded Uchiha sent into another dimension and sent Karin there as well to heal him. Whilst there, his injuries were healed by Karin whereupon he demanded that Madara free him from that dimension though the masked Akatsuki leader kept him there as he had a gift to share with him.

When Sasuke was freed, he came to find himself before Danzō Shimura on a bridge after the Masked Madara had tracked him down and removed his shinobi bodyguards. He then sat away at a distance as he observed the fight as Sasuke was allowed to take his revenge. During the fight, Sasuke to learn that Danzō had harvested the Sharingan eyes of the Uchiha which he implanted in his own body to give him access to their abilities. This made the fight difficult even with the use of the Susano as Danzō came to use the forbidden Izanagi technique allowing him to undo any damage done to him. Through persistent attacks though, he was able to determine that use of these powers caused one of the Sharingan on Shimura's body to be permanently closed after exhausting its power. This alongside his various attacks allowed him to judge the length of time Danzō could use each of the stolen eyes. In the fight, Sasuke used a genjutsu to mask the last eye making it appear as if it were open when in fact it had closed. As a result, Shimura misjudged the fight allowing him to be injured and unable to trigger the Izanagi. He attempted to use the stolen Sharingan from Shisui but was forced to retreat where he took Karin hostage. However, Sasuke cared little for his subordinates as he deemed that anyone who allowed themselves to be taken captive were of little use to him. Thus, he fired a chidori spear through Karin and badly injuring Danzō. Shimura attempted to flee but was cornered by the Masked Madara. Danzō then used a cursed sealing technique in an attempt to take down his attackers in his last act as he died but both Sasuke and the Masked Madara evaded it.

Madara then claimed the corpse and told Sasuke to return to their hideout but suggested that if he had no further use for the injured Karin then he should kill her as she knew too much about their operations. Before he could kill her though, he was confronted by Sakura who claimed that all she wanted was to be with him and wanted to fulfil his goals. In reality, she had resolved herself to kill him after he was declared a rogue shinobi but Sasuke had intended to kill her first but was stopped by Kakashi Hatake. Their battle was then interrupted by Naruto who came to save Sakura's life from an attempt by Sasuke to kill her. This led to a fight between Sasuke and Naruto where the former decided to unleash the powers of his Mangekyō Sharingan by calling forth the Susanoo. However, his powers were pushed to their limit due to his earlier fight against Danzō and he reluctantly decided to leave with Tobi. Before departing, Naruto angrily told Sasuke that he would not give up in trying to save him to which the Uchiha vowed to kill his former friend. Returning to the Mountains' Graveyard, Sasuke then asked Tobi to implant Itachi's eyes into himself so that he could grow stronger and kill Naruto. The transplant was a success though Sasuke had to get used to his news eyes before he could use their power. He remained there for sometime just as the Fourth Shinobi World War began where Tobi's Akatsuki along with reanimated ninja were dispatched to fight against the Allied Shinobi Forces.

During the height of the fighting, Sasuke's eyes came to settle and he decided to kill the White Zetsu that were guarding him after Tobi had joined the war. He then escaped the Akatsuki hide-out where whilst he was travelling he came to sight his brother Itachi who had been brought back using the reanimation jutsu. However, Itachi managed to break free from the casters control and looked to stop the jutsu to help end the war. Sasuke though pursued his brother as he still had questions for him but Itachi had no time for them and instead was focused on his mission. The two Uchiha entered into a cave where they found the caster of the reanimation jutsu to had been Kabuto Yakushi who had gained greater power from Orochimaru's body and had learnt sage art to make himself stronger. Itachi would attack him leading to a fight between the pair with Sasuke supporting his brother where they initially struggled to stop the vastly more powerful Kabuto. However, Itachi then used the forbidden Izanami technique that trapped Kabuto in an endless genjutsu where he Yakushi reveal the signs to undo the reanimation jutsu. Itachi then had some final words with his brother where he regretted not being there for Sasuke and that he always was loyal to the hidden leaf. Saske though could not forgive Konohagakure for betraying the Uchicha and despite Itachi's wishes still planned to destroy the village. It was then the reanimation jutsu was undone causing Itachi to return to the dead thus helping remove a significant number of Tobi's manpower.

Next Generations

When Naruto became Hokage, Sasuke came to be assigned the goal of investigating Kaguya and her actions that had influenced the Ninja World. In the course of his investigation, he came to believe that the White Zetsu army was created by Kaguya to fight off a greater threat that she believed was set to come to the Ninja World.

Thus, he went about searching for anything that was linked to Kaguya and destroying it to prevent them from being a threat to the world. During his search, he discovered the remain of a crop of strong White Zetsu located within the Mountains Graveyard where he destroyed them using his Amaterasu. He then continued his investigation by travelling into Kaguya's icy dimension where he located a scroll within her palace. It was then that he was attacked by two mysterious beings who revealed themselves to be Kinshiki and Momoshiki of the Ōtsutsuki Clan. The former battled him and though he was able to put up a fight, Sasuke came to quickly learn that he could not defeat both opponents and decided to escape using his Rinnegan to put some distance whereupon he returned to the earthly plane. With the scroll in his possession, he then set out to return to Konohagakure in order to report his findings to Naruto. Upon arriving, he reached at night time and headed towards the Uzumaki household as he believed Naruto to be at his home. Whilst pressing the bell, the door was opened by Naruto's son Boruto Uzumaki who had believed his father had returned and had intended to punch him as he was angry with him. Sasuke easily intercepted the punch and inquired about the location of Naruto with Hinata saying that he was still at his office. Uchiha apologised for disturbing the Uzumaki family and then departed to find Naruto to continue his business with the Hokage. After departing, he went to the Hokage's office where he revealed the danger he had encountered with his allies looking to resolve the matter. Upon leaving, he noticed Boruto heading to the Hokage as the young Uzumaki wanted to beat his father for making his sister cry. Sasuke was not impressed at the boy's ability to fight and commented that unless he grew stronger then he had no choice of fighting his father. Rather than be deterred, Boruto was impressed with Sasuke and asked to be his student with Uchiha inquiring that the young Uzumaki had to learn the Rasengan before he could even consider taking him on as a pupil. This led to the overjoyed Boruto departing for the night to begin training whilst Sasuke returned to his home much to the surprise of his wife and daughter. Whilst there, he told Sarada that he would be staying until the Chunin Exam as he wanted to see her performance and also told her about Boruto's request.

Overview

Personality and attributes

It was said that he was named after Sasuke Sarutobi in the hope that he would become a strong shinobi. Due to his eyes, he came to be known as Sasuke of the Sharingan (写輪眼のサスケ, Sharingan no Sasuke). He later decided to protect Konohagakure and was referred to as the Supporting Kage (支う影, Sasaukage, Literally meaning: Supporting Shadow).

After joining Team 7, he came to reveal his motivation in becoming a shinobi which was to find and kill his brother.

Being of the Uchiha clan, he was regarded as a prodigy with a talent for being a shinobi. This along with his desire to kill his brother led to him developing a superiority complex as he felt that he needed to be strong in order to defeat Itachi.

Falling into darkness, he became more extreme and ruthless over time. This came to the point that he cared little for his allies. In fact, he had stated that they were only allowed to accompany him if they were useful. In one instance, he was shown to be capable of sacrificing them if they allowed themselves to be captured and was prepared to kill them.

As a member of the Uchiha Clan, his father was Fugaku Uchiha and his mother was Mikoto Uchiha with him having an older brother named Itachi Uchiha. Whilst growing up, he often looked up to his brother Itachi and cared deeply for him. Though, he often felt in his shadow as he did not show the same talent as him at first. Itachi had a habit of lovingly tapping Sasuke's forehead with a flick of his fingers with this being a sign of his affection. His view of his brother changed though after seemingly see him killing their entire clan and Itachi torturing him. After that point, Sasuke became obsessed with finding and killing his brother with this singular goal consuming him. During their final confrontation, he came to believe that his brother simply wanted to claim his Mangekyo Sharingan but later came to learn from Tobi that everything Itachi had done was to protect him. This caused Sasuke to feel grief over the death of his brother and he came to feel lost after his demise.

He came to fall to the Curse of Hatred (憎しみの呪い, Nikushimi no Noroi) which was an ideal common to members of the Uchiha clan. Whilst training for Orochimaru, Sasuke was consumed by the need to grow stronger and to gain the power he needed to kill his brother. This went to the extent that he was willing to allow Orochimaru use him as his new host body and cease existing so long as he gained the necessary power to destroy Itachi. However, it was later shown that he had no desire to be taken over as a host by Orochimaru and in fact looked to kill him once he learnt everything he needed from him. After learning the truth about his brother, he came to shift the focus of his hatred to that of the hidden leaf village itself after finding out how the elders had orchestrated the demise of the Uchiha clan.

Upon meeting Naruto Uzumaki, he came to hold a low opinion of his comrade and even thought him to be a loser. Their initial work together led to the two seeing each other as comrades with the rivalry fuelling each others training. This changed though after the Chunin Exams where after Sasuke's inability to defeat foes that Naruto had successfully won against in fights. This caused Sasuke to question his own worth as a shinobi and meant he could not accept Naruto as an equal as he felt it would demean his own talents. Thus, their rivalry sparked into a hatred of Naruto with Sasuke wanting to beat the Uzumaki to prove his own worth. However, his anger only grew upon seeing the new jutsu that he had mastered whilst he saw his own skills as having remained static. Eventually, he came to consider Naruto his closest friend due to their shared experiences together. This, however, came to serve as a means to an end for Sasuke who intended to kill Naruto in order to attain the power of the Mangekyo Sharigan.

By adulthood, he came to marry Sakura Haruno with the pair having a daughter together named Sarada Uchiha. He came to claim that Sakura was not weak and could hold her own in a battle.

It was said that he was the current age reincarnation of Indra Ōtsutsuki.

Powers and abilities

Similar to his older brother, he proved to be a natural prodigy of the Uchiha clan. Such was his talent that Kakashi Hatake came to note it during the bell test when he looked to check his students under Team 7. Over time, he was shown as being an intelligent fighter capable of engineering events to bring about his victory. This was shown during his fight with Itachi where he seemingly expanded fire release techniques that missed his target but in reality they were designed to increase the ambient temperature to bring about thunder clouds so that he could use his Kirin techique.

In one instance, he was able to use the Sharingan to copy the movements of a person from behind in order to get the answers to an exam question. Through this talent, he was able to copy the movement of high-speed taijutsu users such as Rock Lee and utilise their techniques in combat. The Sharingan also allowed him to see the spirit of a Tailed-Beast whilst within the Jinchuriki host. He came to be capable of quickly reacting to his opponents abilities such as Deidara where he determined that his opponent was an earth jutsu user based on his hand signs as determined by the Sharingan. This gave him an advantage as it mean that he could use the chidori lightning technique against his enemy to incredible effect as earth jutsu was vulnerable towards lightning style.

Through the Mangekyō Sharingan, Sasuke came to wield the highest level of Fire Release dōjutsu which was Amaterasu (Raiton: 天照, Translation: Heavenly Illumination). This power was implanted in him by his brother Itachi where initially it was made as a failsafe for use against Madara Uchiha. After gaining the ability, he could manifest black flames through his eyes with these incapable of being put out so long as the jutsu was active. Their destructive power was so great that they could extinguish other fires. Using the power took a great deal of effort for Sasuke and resulted in pain in his eyes upon extensive use but was his most potent ability. He later came to find out that he could use his eyes to put out the black flames on a target thus preventing it from killing a person but this required a great deal of effort on his part.

Upon fully awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan, he was able to use his chakra to manifest as the gigantic humanoid avatar known as the Susanoo. Overuse of this power caused his eyes to go blind with him transplanting his brother Itachi's eyes to himself. This allowed him to attain an Eternal Mangekyō and become stronger as a result.

He came to learn a number of techniques and jutsu that included:

  • Fire Release: Dragon Fire Technique (火遁・龍火の術, Katon: Ryūka no Jutsu) : a fire jutsu whereby he could spit of flames form his mouth like a dragon where it was projected quickly in a narrow straight direction and engulfed his targets.
  • Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Technique (火遁・鳳仙火の術, Katon: Hōsenka no Jutsu) : a fire jutsu where he could fire a volley of fireballs at a target.
  • Amaterasu (Raiton: 天照, Translation: Heavenly Illumination) : a Mangekyō Sharingan dōjutsu that was the highest level of Fire Release. This power implanted in him by his brother Itachi Uchiha at the point of his death. It was capable of manifesting black flames that burnt anything it touched with a look including other flames that were consumed by this power. As the fires expanded, one of the means to avoid them from killing a person was them severing the affected limb. Sasuke sometimes was known to allow the fires to burn his opponent to the point that they were badly injured and weakened whereupon he undid the Amaterasu.
  • Summoning Technique (口寄せの術, Kuchiyose no Jutsu) :
  • Summoning: Lightning Flash Blade Creation (Raiton: 口寄せ・雷光剣化, Kuchiyose: Raikō Kenka) :
  • Lightning Release: Chidori (雷遁・千鳥, Raiton: Chidori, English TV: Lightning Style: Chidori, Literally meaning: Lightning Release: One Thousand Birds) : a technique that was learnt from his sensei Kakashi Hatake with it being his signature jutsu. It involved concentrating lightning on the finger tips using his chakra to the point that it was visible for others to see. The skill was said to require a great deal of speed and was said to be the ultimate assassination style technique. Initially, he was only able to use this technique a maximum of three times before his chakra reserves were completely depleted and left him helpless.
    • Chidori Current (千鳥流し, Chidori Nagashi) : a refinement of the jutsu that was developed by Sasuke whilst training under Orochimaru. The user released the chidori in every direction allowing the electrical discharge to flow from their body to multiple enemies around them. Those affected by it misinterpreted the lightning as electrical signals from the nerves making their muscles contract and involuntarily stiffen whilst also receiving damage from the lightning. It could also be channelled through objects such as a sword or even through the ground to increase the range of the attack.
    • Chidori Sharp Spear (千鳥鋭槍, Chidori Eisō) : by focusing his chakra, he could shape the chidori into a spear that was able to extend over a distance to spear through his target.
    • Chidori Senbon (千鳥千本, Chidori Senbon) : another variation of the chidori that Sasuke developed whereby he used shape transformation to transform the electric current into countless sharp senbon that were fired in quick succession.
  • Kirin (麒麟, Kirin) : a lighting release technique that drew natural energy from thunder clouds to supplement in his power which he controlled through his chakra. As it was natural lightning, it did not draw on his own chakra reserves with the only effort being in the control of it. The technique was said to be incapable of blocking as lightning reached the ground in 1/1000th of a second. As it relied on thunder clouds, it meant that the ability had to be used in the correct conditions that could either naturally form or artificially generated.
  • Amenotejikara (天手力, Amenotejikara) : a space-time ninjutsu that he was able to use with the power of his Rinnegan and entrusted to him by the Sage of Six Paths. Using his left eye, he could shift between spaces and swap places with any object in his sight. He could use this to evade deadly attacks by switching himself with an object that took the blow whilst he was moved to safety.

From Orochimaru, he came to be branded with the Cursed Seal of Heaven (天の呪印, Ten no Juin) that was used to turn Sasuke into a new host body. This sapped the Uchiha's chakra and replaced it with the larger amount from Orochimaru whenever Sasuke fell to his desire for power. Early use of the Cursed Seal led to involuntary and painful transformation which led him unable to move afterwards. In time, these issues were minimised during its second state where it turned Sasuke's skin grey, cause his hair to grow and led to him forming wings. His power came to grow even further whilst training under Orochimaru where he was able to fight and even defeated the sanin whose power he absorbed into himself thus inheriting some of his powers and abilities. This included some of his abilities as the Great White Snake whereby he could recover from injuries at a faster rate. Ultimately, this power was burnt out of him by his brother Itachi through the use of the Amaterasu.

He later came to awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan in both eyes that allowed him to manifest a giant physical avatar called the Susanoo (須佐能乎, Susanoo) that was a power of the Uchiha clan. Initially, he struggled in maintaining the power as even an incomplete manifestation caused his body to feel like it was burning. At first, it could appeared as a purple skeletal form but over time as his power matured and with his anger he came to manifest more skin as well as armor on it. The final stage of its use involved stabilising the chakra allowing Sasuke to create a colossal form known as the Complete Body — Susanoo (完成体 須佐能乎, Kanseitai — Susanoo, Viz: Perfect Susanoo, Literally meaning: Complete Body — He with the ability to help by all means) that was powerful enough to match a Tailed-Beast.

For a time, he came to use a chokutō called the Sword of Kusanagi (Raiton: 草薙の剣, Kusanagi no Tsurugi, TV Translation: Snake Sword). It had a black scabbard and matching hilt and was a larger size than a normal chokutō. To increase its effectiveness, he was able to channel his chidori through the blade causing a person to be further damaged by the blade. The blade was noted for its long extension and its ability to cut through almost anything.

After breaking away from Orochimaru, Sasuke became fixated on getting his revenge and sought to gather a team by his side to aid him in this task. These consisted of former test subjects of Orochimaru who had particular skills that were seen as valuable to Sasuke. Upon assembling them, he originally came to refer to the group as the Hebi (蛇) where their goal was to kill Itachi Uchiha. Upon learning the truth about his brother, Sasuke was filled with a sense of revenge against the hidden leaf for their involvement in the destruction of the Uchiha clan where he re-named his group the Taka (鷹) whose goal was to destroy Konohagakure.
