Television

  • In Spider-Man Unlimited, Counter-Earth served as the primary setting within the cartoon series. It was shown to had existed for thousands of years where it followed a similar pattern of development as regular Earth. Long ago, the world was similarly developed Dinosaurs that dominated its surface until a meteorite arrived that transported the parasitic Symbiotes to it. Once there, the Symbiotes infested the Dinosaurs and bringing all creatures under the unity of the hive min known as the Synoptic. However, a meteor would crash that caused the extinction of the Dinosaurs and forced the Symbiotes deep underground where they awaited and called on others of their kind to help them take over Earth once more with mankind developing in the aftermath. Around 50 years ago, the being known as the High Evolutionary became disgusted with mankind on the regular Earth and departed for a new utopia on Counter-Earth. Humanity on Counter-Earth, however, was engaged in infighting and violence which forced the High Evolutionary to decide to create his utopia instead. After many years of experiments, he developed hybrid animal beings who he called Beastials that became the dominant race on the planet whilst mankind was relegated to second class citizens who was tagged for tracking. Under the High Evolutionary's rule, the Beastials dominated Counter-Earth where the Knights of Wundagore enforced his will whilst the Machine Men brought order to this society. The main Earth by the modern day discovered the existence of Counter-Earth with astronaut John Jameson launching to explore it on Solarus-1 but he was brought down and tagged but released by the Human Revolution where he became their leader. Spider-Man would go onboard Solarus-2 to bring back John Jameson but was followed by Venom and Carnage who were responding to the call of the Synoptic to free it. Similar to Jameson, Solarus-2 was shot down forcing Spider-Man to remain trapped on Counter-Earth where he fought against the High Evolutionary's rule whilst trying to find a way back home.
