Biography
Rey Palpatine was the human daughter of a human woman and a man that was the son of Emperor Palpatine. Her father and mother went on the run from the Galactic Empire many years ago until after the Battle of Endor. In that time, the Emperor had actually survived the destruction of the Death Star II with him escaping to the hidden Sith world of Exegol. Once there, he re-established his powerbase in secret and dispatched one of his cultists named Ochi to track down his son with the intention of bringing his granddaughter to him. At the time, Rey was with her parents on the desert world of Jakku where they seemingly sold her into slavery though this was done to protect her as they knew that an assassin was tracking them down. They were taken aboard Ochi's ship that departed Jakku where he killed them but failed to find Rey. Meanwhile, Rey remained on the planet where she believed that her parents would one day return for her.
Upon arriving on the world, she made her way past the ruins where she found a dwelling and discovered a robed man by the cliffside who she reasoned was Master Skywalker. Approaching him, she offered him his lightsabre back but Luke ended up dismissively throwing it off the ledge. Rey explained that she was a Force-sensitive and had come to be trained by Luke Skywalker in the ways of the Jedi but he refused following his past experiences involving his nephew. However, he ultimately relented after seeing Rey's being relentless in staying and wanting to be taught by him. He began to teach her the basics of using the Force where he was quick to learn that she possessed an immense strength within her. However, he also came to sense that there was a clear temptation to the Dark Side of the Force with this reminding Luke of the fall of his nephew and former student who had become Kylo Ren. During her training, Rey came to feel an inexplicable connection to Kylo Ren and began to encounter him in her meditations. He informed her that his uncle Luke Skywalker once tried to kill him and it was this that led to him turning away from the path of the Jedi. Master Skywalker explained his own version of events where he had a vision that showed that his nephew Ben Skywalker would be responsible for much pain and suffering in the future. This led to him experiencing a moment of weakness where he considered killing his nephew with these emotion's being felt by Ben and leading to his turn to the Dark Side. During the continued meditations, Rey once again encountered Kylo Ren and could physically touch him during their meetings through the Force. He attempted to convince her to come to his side but she in turn intended to turn him to the Light Side as she claimed he could feel the conflict within him. In this time, Rey decided to return to aid the Resistance and attempted to convince Luke Skywalker to join her but he refused. Thus, Rey departed the planet along with Chewbacca and R2-D2 where she intended to meet Kylo Ren on-board the First Order flagship the Supremacy.
She continued her training where she attempted to perfect her Force control by hearing all the Jedi that came before her. This meant that she was not able to participate in Resistance operations against the First Order who maintained their control over the galaxy. During one of her training sessions, she received a dark vision of the future that caused her to fail her session. It was then that Finn and Poe arrived with dire news from the spy within the First Order. They revealed that Emperor Palpatine had survived the destruction of the second Death Star and had escaped to the Exegol where he built up his powerbase that included a mighty fleet called the Final Order. This force was allying with Supreme Leader Ren's First Order and were posed to take over the galaxy. Rey recalled from Luke Skywalker's journal about his own search for Exegol and decided to end her training in order to aid the Resistance in stopping Palpatine.
