David 8 is a male film character who features in the Aliens universe.

Biography
David 8 was one of the David-series of Synthetic that were created by Weyland Industries. Peter Weyland was responsible for the commissioning the project that built David where he asked the android to describe his surroundings as well as his name. The synthetic responded with the name of 'David' after seeing the masterpiece statue made by Michelangelo. Weyland then told David that the two would one day seeking out the creators of mankind. At first, David 8 asked why he should serve Peter Weyland when he would die whilst the android would live forever. This response annoyed his creator who ordered David to serve him tea from a kettle nearby with the android begrudgingly obeying the command. Afterwards, Peter Weyland decided to be involved in an expedition to seek out an alien race known as the Engineers who were creators of humanity. This saw David being approved to join the expedition on-board the Prometheus though several personnel at Weyland Industries had doubts over the synthetic being fast-tracked into development.
