History
The Acolytes were a team of super-powered Mutants who were followers of Magneto. Originally, they were a group of Mutants brought together by Fabian Cortez who had led them in stealing a space shuttle to go into orbit as they headed towards Asteroid M. Once there, they met with Magneto and pledged themselves to his teachings of the superiority of Mutantkind and their dominance over normal humans. This caused some members of the group to even beginning to worship the Master of Magnetism with religious fervour and saw him as a 'Mutant Messiah'. Magneto decided to allow them to stay with him and he came to refer to them as his Acolytes. (X-Men v2 #1)
After the establishment of Krakoa, a call was given to all Mutants to come to the living island that was to be their homeland. Among them were the Acolytes were alongside Exodus were invited to join the rest of Earth's Mutants. (Powers of X v1 #5)
