Biography
Origin
Anna Marie was a female human Mutant who was born the daughter of a man named Owen and a woman named Priscilla. (Rogue v3 #6)
After the incident with Cody, the young Rogue was alone and felt alienated by the community of the town. She was then approached by a dark haired woman with Rogue pulling out her shotgun to warn her away. However, the stranger meant no harm and even talked about how they were similar whereupon she changed her appearance revealing herself to be a Mutant shapeshifter. Her name was Mystique and in her the young Rogue came to find kinship that she had been lacking for much of her life. (X-Men Unlimited v1 #4)
X-Men
She then oversaw Sabretooth who was injected with nano-Sentinels by Beast to keep him under control. Rogue then took him out of Cyclops custody where she decided to take her independent strike team to deal with the Children of the Vault. (X-Men v2 #192)
After the death of Xavier, Rogue was present at the grave of Professor X when the Scarlet Witch was present to pay her respects to him. Anna Marie was angry at Maximoff's presence and blamed her for Charles death due to her role in the Decimation. This saw her attacking Wanda but Rogue found her powers not working with the two coming under attack from the S-Men. The villainous team captured the pair who took them to their master the Red Skull's base who had harvested Professor X's brain for his own use. (Uncanny X-Men v1 #1)
Mr. and Mrs. X
The pair later fought with Deadpool for custody of the mysterious egg which was when Technet arrived looking to claim it for the bounty on it. This led to the two X-Men and Deadpool allying with one another to defeat their foes who were forced to flee. During an argument over control over the prize, the egg hatched where it became a duplicate of Rogue. (Mr. and Mrs. X v1 #2)

Personality and attributes
The people in her home town were the ones that called her Rogue which Anna-Marie said was the nicest thing they could say about her. (X-Men Unlimited v1 #4)
Her parents were a man named Owen and a woman called Priscilla. (Rogue v3 #6) Her mother had a younger sister named Carrie who was Anna-Marie's maternal aunt who helped raise her. (Rogue v3 #2)
She came to meet Mystique shortly after the incident with Cody when she approached Rogue and revealed her true nature. Mystique came to offer her kinship and a much needed hug for the young Rogue who was told that everything would become better. For the first few years together, Anna-Marie swore that Mystique cared for her and never did anything to harm her. (X-Men Unlimited v1 #4)
Powers and abilities
Her powers later came to change as she gained the power to absorb the abilities of others in proximity to her without the need for physical contact. Initially, she lost control of this power but it was said that she had simply evolved whereupon she would gain a better control over this ability in time. (Mr. and Mrs. X v1 #5)
Notes
- Rogue was created by Chris Claremont and Michael Golden where she made her first appearance in Avengers Annual v1 #10 (October, 1981).
Alternate Versions
- In Infinity Countdown: Captain Marvel v1 #1 (2018), an alternate reality version of Rogue was shown to exist on a world designated as Earth-9289. This version had prolonged contact with Carol Danvers where the two exchange personalities as a result of the use of her powers. This version of Rogue later travelled into space where she gained the powers of Binary and came to be known as Captain Marvel in her reality.
- In Captain Marvel: The End v1 #1 (2020), an alternate reality was shown where a great cataclysm devastated the Earth killing most of its population. On this world, Rogue and Gambit had a daughter named Irene who resembled her mother but had her father's eyes. In 2051, she and a few others managed to survive where they called Carol Danvers back to Earth to help slay a monster that was killing them.
