Biography
Alex Wesker was a female human who was bred as part of a secret eugenics project commissioned by Ozwell E. Spencer. He commissioned the project of creating a superior breed of humans that were instilled with his values that would rule the world. The Wesker Plan was named after the chief researcher of the time with children being collected from parents of superior intellect from all nationalities. Alex was among them where she was given the surname of Wesker with her undergoing a period of indoctrination and manipulation where she was placed in select controlled environments at various locations around the world with her always being monitored by the Umbrella Corporation. The children were unaware of this surveillance and Umbrella provided concealed aid to provide them the best education available in the fields of their pursuit. Only one of the children was deemed to hold promise with this one being Alex's 'brother' named Albert Wesker. Alex herself was also held as being among the best and brightest of the Wesker children all of whom were provided a variation of the Progenitor Virus. Among the Wesker children, Alex and Albert were the only survivors as their bodies adapted to the virus that killed their 'siblings'. Whilst operating at Umbrella, she developed a close relationship with her 'brother' Albert and formed a friendly rivalry with William Birkin. By the 1990s, Alex was mostly or even fully aware about Project Wesker, kept a secret to others and was an acquaintance of Dr. Lord Spencer as a senior member of the Umbrella Intelligence Division. On the Umbrella CEO's instructions, in 1998, the Wesker candidates were infected with the Prototype Virus as part of the next phase in the project. She eventually came to know the full nature behind the Wesker Plan and assisted Spencer in his efforts to become immortal. In reality, she actually despised him and decided to pander his foolish goals. Pretending to aid him, she actually drained much of Ozwell's resources and personnel by assuring him that the viral experiments would run smoothly. She used this as a cover to develop her own goals with Spencer unaware of them with her intending to abandon him once she had no further use for him.
When confirming Albert's apparent death in August 1998, Alex strongly suggested replacing their losses by infecting the hundreds of washout candidates who, though not as academically successful still shared the same upbringing, but it appeared that this never came into fruition. On July 19, 2000, Alex and a team of Umbrella researchers and her loyal confidant Stuart landed on Sejm Island. This was a small Russian island which suffered from an economic collapse during the fall of the Soviet Union. Alex chose to take advantage of their desperation before using them as guinea pigs. Using Umbrella's funds, Alex kickstarted an economic recovery by hiring the locals to construct a research complex. Seeking to eventually use the locals as guinea pigs, she also saw the re-opening of its mines which made an ideal place for abducting test subjects. Unaware about this, she was hailed as a messianic figure by the locals for her actions. By the time of the final collapse of Umbrella in 2003, Alex remained at Dr. Lord Spencer's side. Sent out to Umbrella's old facility at Sonido de Tortuga Island, Alex was instructed to divert viral weapons research toward the creation of a virus which would halt the telomere-shortening properties of human cells which made ageing an inevitability. To be infected with a such a mutagen would have made him biologically immortal. Already feeling the effects of her own degenerative illness, Alex gave up on the project and abandoned Sonido de Tortuga, taking all of the research data with her to Sejm Island where she reformed it into the t-Phobos project in 2006, a year after beginning the initial research. Instead of keeping an aged body alive, Alex's new project instead aimed at developing technology that could digitise her consciousness and transfer it into a host body, with a virus being developed that would create a superhuman for this copied consciousness to inhabit. This may have been brought on by her illness as a new Alex would not suffer from a terminal disease. The problem in developing this virus was that brain chemistry was the deciding factor in creating the superhuman - production of hormones associated with fear would fail a candidate and six months of exposure to the virus and the mind transfer machinery was necessary for Wesker's copied consciousness to take over.
Overview
Personality and attributes
Whilst masterminding her experiments on Zabytij, she came to be known as the Overseer until her identity was discovered.
She shared Ozwell E. Spencer's goal in creating a new world with herself ruling over it as a god. Though she came to despise Spencer as she felt that he failed to overcome mankind's greatest enemies that were age and disease. Before abandoning him, she assured him that his dream would live on through her as she used his wealth and resources to succeed where he failed. She intended for Spencer's legacy to be long forgotten whilst her own would begin.
Powers and abilities
Alex was a child taken from highly intelligent parents with her traits being enhanced as part of a eugenics program.
It was said that Spencer placed all his hopes on the Wesker children. To them, he tasked the burden of making him a god with Alex admitting that they foolishly and compulsively scrambled to follow his orders. Eventually, she and her brother realized that they had no obligation to obey the orders of what they deemed to be a stupid, decrepit old man. Thus, she came to feign her loyalty which was only a ruse whilst she continued her duplicitous use of Spencer's vast resources.
She was noted to had been infected with the Prototype Virus where Alex and Albert were the only confirmed survivors of this procedure. The virus had a 20% probability of negligible mutation for each candidate and became a certainty in Alex due to an incurable illness that she developed. Consequently, she possessed no superhuman powers
