Biography
Origin
Amunet Black was a dark haired female human who was born in the modern age.
Years ago, she adopted the identity of the Blacksmith where she formed an underground black market called the Network in Central City and Keystone City. It specialised in stolen property that was acquired by the Rogues where Black used her global connections to make easy sales. Around this time, Goldface first moved to Central City where he met the Blacksmith with the two embarking on a romance. They married quickly but they also divorced shortly afterwards with Kenyon attempting to get her to leave the criminal life behind but she refused. Before he left, Amunet stole some of Goldface's elixir with the help of the Rogues which mutated her as well as gave her superhuman abilities. She then used some forms of hypnotism to hide the existence of the Network from the authorities by erasing their existence from any criminal that tried to reform. (Flash v2 #186)
During this time, she also began to recruit supervillains to her cause with her establishing a new incarnation of the Rogues. One individual looking to join the Rogues was Axel Walker who had assumed the identity of the Trickster who was given the assignment of breaking into police headquarters to steal vital information from the profiler Hunter Zolomon who risked uncovering the Blacksmith's operations. Walker's success led to him being inducted into the Network and him joining the ranks of the new Rogues. (Flash v2 #183) She then led them in a coordinated attack against the Flash where Murmur infected the speedster with his frenzy virus. (Flash v2 #184) Her attack, however, coincided with a similar onslaught by the Thinker who was looking to take over Keystone City. (Flash v2 #185) The Thinker later aided the Flash in order to take over his body with the Blacksmith leading the Rogues to stop him. They found the Flash where Amunet used her powers to free him from the Thinker's cables. The Rogues then attempted to kill the speedster but Weather Wizard fell under the control of the Thinker who used him to attack his comrades. Their battle provided the distraction to allow Wally West to escape the area. (Flash v2 #186) This allowed the Flash to cure himself and also to defeat the Thinker though the Rogues continued their attack. This allowed Girder to capture the speedster whereupon the Blacksmith had the Rogues regroup whilst the Network was deployed in numbers to take over Keystone City. Amunet then gave the word for Girder to kill the Flash thus removing any opposition to the Blacksmith's operations in the city. (Flash v2 #187) However, Magenta turned against them to save Wally West with the Rogues having to take down the traitor. Despite their advantage, Kenyon came to rally the people of Keystone to fight the Network. This saw her organisation being dismantled and forced Amunet to go on the run where she fled to the Van Buren Bridge. The Flash pursued her there where in desperation she attempted to destroy the bridge but the act was undone by Wally West who repaired it with his super-speed. He then knocked her off the bridge onto a waste barge allowing her to be captured. (Flash v2 #188)
Black was then placed in a cell in the Pipeline at Iron Heights until a group of telepathically controlled gorillas assaulted the prison. The animals were responsible for breaking the cells of all the super-criminals at the penitentiary with the Blacksmith being among them. The Flash raced into the prison in order to stop the release of the villains where he came under attack from a number of them. Amunet revealed herself as among the escapees where she intended to rally the supervillains under her once again and take over the city but was knocked to the side by Gorilla Grodd who had orchestrated the prison break to free only himself. (The Flash v2 #192)
She made sure that her rogues were strong and had better control of their powers. She had Magenta use her powers to keep Girder from rusting and taught the Weather Wizard better control with his wand.
Second, she and her rogues had Flash's allies removed or incapacitated. Mirror Master framed Piper for the murder of his parents. Plunder took out Chunk, shot his mirror image, Detective Jared Morillo, and assumed his identity. Then, Mirror Master kidnapped Cyborg and police officer Fred Chyre, trapping them in a mirror universe along with all the other cops of Keystone City. The Rogues then removed the speedsters by giving Jesse Quick's company financial trouble and then sent Jay Garrick to a hospital in Denver when his wife got sick.
Finally, Murmur and Mirror Master attacked radio stations and reprogrammed their antennas to broadcast a mirror shield around the twin cities to prevent anyone from coming in or getting out.
After everything had been put into place, Blacksmith and her rogues launched their takeover and began by attacking the Flash. They attacked hard and fast, which left Flash tired and badly injured, but just as they were about to finish him off, they were stopped by the Thinker, who wanted to use the Flash's brain to upload information. After the Thinker was defeated, Blacksmith and the rogues resumed their plan and attacked Flash and Goldface. They successfully trounced Flash while Goldface escaped. During the fight, Blacksmith used her power to transform her body into ebony metal, while villains in the Network began to loot and pillage the two cities. Luckily, Goldface lead the people of the twin cities against the Network and Flash managed to defeat the Weather Wizard, Mirror Master, and Trickster II, before they escaped when Captain Cold froze the ground and Mirror Master used it to retreat. With her rogues defeated, she tried a desperate attack by collapsing the bridge that connects Keystone City and Central City. The Flash quickly managed to rebuild the bridge and finally defeat Blacksmith by stranding her on a barge in the middle of the river (she could not enter the water for fear of rusting her metal skin). With her Network discontinued, she was sent to Iron Heights, where she was severely wounded by the escaping Gorilla Grodd. (The Flash v2 #192) Although she survived her injuries, Blacksmith has not been seen since that incident, although she did show up for "Digger" Harkness' funeral.
Post-Flashpoint
Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events. Amunet Black
Early in his career, the Flash came to arrest Amunet Black and had her sent to Iron Heights. She was among many of the Flash's villains who later attempted an escape during a massive breakout when the Scarlet Speedster was temporarily on the run from the Riddler and the Rogues. (The Flash v4 #50) Later on, the Blacksmith was recruited into the Legion of Zoom by the Reverse-Flash Eobard Thawne to help him finally defeat the Flash family. (The Flash v1 #760) Despite their numbers, the Legion of Zoom came to be defeated and the group was later disbanded. (The Flash v1 #761)

When Goldface moved to Central City, he and Amunet Black fell in love instantly with him stating it that her eyes drew him. (Flash v2 #186)
Powers and abilities
Originally, Amunet Black was an ordinary human being until she used the special elixir used by her ex-husband Goldface. Using it transformed her into a Metahuman giving her the ability to merge flesh and metal with a touch. (Flash v2 #186) Thus, she was able to fuse animate and inanimate objects together. (Flash v2 #183) The Blacksmith equally could dissolve the bonds between such substances. (Flash v2 #186) Black could also fuse metal to her body thus making her stronger and more endurable. This created an ebony compound that was a perfect combination of flesh and metal. (Flash v2 #188)
Her powers allowed her a unique perception as she could sense any fusion between organic and inorganic substances. (Flash v2 #186)
Amunet controlled the Network that was a criminal black market that operated within Central City and Keystone City. (Flash v2 #183) It was noted for being a lucrative business that was able to move stolen items and run any goods that included alien weapons from invasions to priceless art. As the Network grew, so too did the Twin Cities economy with it said that government leaders turning a blind eye to their activities as it brought money in during rough economic times. (Flash v2 #186)

- In The Flash, Amunet Black appeared in the live-action television series set in the Arrowverse where she first appeared in the fourth season and was portrayed by actress Katee Sackhoff. This version was Leslie Jocoy who was a former flight attendant until she gained her powers where she became a supervillain who operated under the alias of Amunet Black. After gaining the power to telekinetically manipulate anything made of alnico, Jocoy began carrying a quantity of alnico shards and became a crime lord specializing in black market metahuman trafficking. She also previously employed Caitlin Snow. When the latter left however, Black refuses to accept this and makes several attempts to get her back. Later, Amunet is forced to work with the Flash and his allies to stop one of her henchmen after he betrays her in order to steal and sell off her shards. In return, Amunet provides Team Flash with a device to help them stop the Thinker before escaping. In the season six episode "Love is a Battlefield", she enters a turf war with her ex-boyfriend and fellow crime lord Goldface over a Rappaccini's Daughter flower that they both wanted until the Flash exposes them both to its pollen, causing them to hear what they really think about each other and reconcile. Amunet and Keith attended counseling with Sharon Finkel, who informed them that if they wanted their rekindled romance to work, they had to fully let each other into all aspects of their lives. To this end, they combined their gangs and shared hideouts; not only had their romantic partnership improved, their criminal enterprise had increased profit by a large amount. Per Keith's request, Amunet agreed to eat a balanced breakfast and not just "bangers and mash". In 2022, Amunet had gone to England to broker with a client that wanted the meta-human cure bullets Kramer had advertised at CCPD following Frost's trial. During her morning in England, Amunet called Keith to check on their progress of their operation; he assured her that the client would get his product at the specified time before sweet-talking her at the end of the call. Amunet later called again to check on his progress, unaware Flash stopped him. Sometime later, Keith was released from Iron Heights through a deal testifying as state's witness, claiming that Amunet was locked up in his place as she was the mastermind of the operation. It is unclear whether Amunet agreed to this or holds ill will towards him, but Keith says it wasn't true love, at least compared to money and literature.
