Christine (Proteus)
Christine was Mark's girlfriend. She survived the sinking of Paul's yacht, and drifted with the rest of the group in the life raft. It was she who first noticed the body of Duncan Jarman floating in the water. Aboard the oil rig, she wandered off to find a bathroom, forcing the rest of the group to search for her. Alex chided her not to wander off alone.
After Paul's death and the injury of Rachel, the group set up in the rig's infirmary. While there, Christine, Linda and the injured Rachel were all asleep with Mark on guard duty while Alex went elsewhere to learn more about the Proteus Project. Mark himself soon fell asleep. This allowed Charlie to absorb both him and Rachel, leaving Christine and Linda the only two humans in the room.
Charlie was in Mark's form when Linda awoke. Noticing Rachel was missing, she went to find her, unknowingly leaving the still sleeping Christine alone with Charlie. By the time Christine awoke, Charlie had transformed from Mark into Rachel, and in this form it attacked Christine, killing and absorbing her. Her mind became trapped inside Charlie, but was freed when Alex later killed the monster by burning it to death.
