Biography
Guido Mista (Japanese: グイード・ミスタ, Hepburn: Guīdo Misuta) was a male human born on December 3, 1982 in Italy. In his childhood, one of Mista's neighbors adopted a kitten out of four and later learned that kitten clawed one of the said neighbor's eyes out which resulted in Guido developing tetraphobia or fear of the number 4. During his teenage years, he was living on his own where he enjoyed a carefree life despite living mostly in poverty. He often warmly greeted pretty women regardless of being rejected and would stay by a movie theatre. On occasion, he got caught by police and spent nights at the police station but regardless had a pleasant life. This was until one night when he was 17 years old when whilst walking he saw a man beating a woman in a car. The event did not appear as a simple robbery and Mista felt obligated to help the woman who was in a bad condition leading to him twisting the attackers arm whilst pulling out of the vehicle. Guido then slammed his knee into his chest thinking that would deal with the person only to find that two of his friends were in the car as well and that the attacker was no ordinary bum. The injured man felt his pride affected at his friends seeing him beaten and thus pulled a gun from his pocket which he fired at Mista but no matter how close he was he managed to miss. In a panic, the man fired the gun more rapidly leading to his friends similarly taking their weapons to shoot at Mista but the young teenager was not hit a single time with him being surprised at how calm he was under fire. He closed the gap with the shooters where he took one of their guns, took bullets and reloaded the firearm whereupon with the skill of a marksmen he dispatched all three men with perfect accuracy of four gunshots. The police later arrived on the scene where they arrested Mista for the murder of three men despite killing them in self-defence with him being sentenced to 15-30 years in prison as no one believed he would have gotten a gun without getting shot and injured in the fight whilst him reloading the weapon showing his intention to kill. Whilst in prison, he embraced the life and wondered about his future in spending his youth in jail. However, he was released from prison by a mysterious benefactor and when he emerged from the building he met with Bruno Bucciarati who was responsible for him being freed. Bucciarati was impressed at Mista's strong spirit and proficiency with guns leading to him wanting the man for his squad in the Passione along with knowing the young man would not survive two years in prison. He treated Guido to a meal and Mista became so indebted to Bruno that he without hesitation agreed to join his gang. Afterwards, he was subjected to a Passione trial by Polpo where he was subjected to the Arrow and gained a Stand power called Sex Pistols (セックス・ピストルズ Sekkusu Pisutoruzu).
One day, he ad the gang were invited to a restaurant by a florist who wanted Bruno to kill a sculptor who allegedly killed his daughter. Bucciarati was moved by the man's words and tasked Mista with investigating the case. In time, he came to notice a strange rock stalking him but ignored the matter as he looked into the sculptor's apartment. The sculptor was a man named Scolippi with Guido brutally interrogating him about the rock. The man explained that this was his Stand named Rolling Stones which stalked targets fated to die soon and granted them a premature but peaceful death. Its latest target was Bruno with Mista desperately attempting to save his boss with Scolippi revealing that the only means of doing so was by breaking the rock. Mista then attempted to accomplish this feat and even went to throwing himself with Rolling Stones off the 6th floor. Ultimately, the Stan stopped following Bruno but began to show the form of Mista's other teammates Narancia and Abbacchio. Afterwards, he was with the team when Bruno came with a new member to join their ranks with this being Giorno Giovanna. Mista was introduced to Giorno Giovanna alongside the rest of the group in a restaurant. Mista in particular witnesses fellow member Leone Abbacchio urinating inside a teapot, and stifles laughter after seeing Giorno hesitate to drink from the teacup. However, he is quickly stupefied and impressed when Giorno gulps the whole cup. Not long after, Team Bucciarati proceeds to go after Polpo's treasure following his death. While he was ambushed and deflated by Soft Machine on the way to Capri Island. Upon the defeat of Soft Machine's user Mario Zucchero, Mista proceeds to torture him for information on accomplices to no avail. With Abbacchio's ability, the team learns that he had an accomplice waiting on the island. Both Mista and Giorno take on the duty of taking him out, and Mista revealed his Stand Sex Pistols, capable of redirecting the bullets fired from his handy revolver. At the marina, Mista encounters Zucchero's partner, Sale, and gives chase, leaving Giorno behind. The battle takes to a truck, and Mista fires into Sale's head, only to be shocked at the supposedly fatal shot having little effect on him. He fires once more, though Sale's Stand Kraft Work simply fixes the bullets in space before they can do any harm. At a disadvantage, Mista then wastes his bullets trying to bypass Kraft Work's power, to no avail; moreover, Sale redirects some of the bullets directly into Mista. The gunman reverses the situation by misdirecting Sale with his last bullet, commanding Sex Pistols to kick the bullet Sale had kept as ammo directly into his head wound, pushing the first bullet deeper into Sale's head and into his brain, knocking him out. Afterward, Bucciarati hands over Polpo's treasure to Pericolo, promoting him to the officer rank of capo.
The team then received their first mission from Pericolo: to protect the Boss' daughter Trish from traitors who seek to discover the Boss' identity through her. Thus Mista, alongside his team, hides in the countryside until the Boss deals with the traitor. However, their hideout is compromised after Formaggio from Squadra Esecuzioni finds Narancia and battles him; although Formaggio is killed, Narancia's onslaught was bound to attract the attention of the traitors. After receiving instructions from the Boss and after Giorno, Fugo, and Abbacchio retrieved a key in Pompei, Team Bucciarati board a train bound to Florence while hidden inside the turtle Stand user Coco Jumbo. Soon, Mista is the first to notice that everyone is aging at a dramatic rate, and Giorno discovered that lowering one's body temperature with ice will slow the aging. With that precious information in mind, Mista heads out of Coco Jumbo but is confronted to a second Stand, Beach Boy, which hooked itself into his arm. Before the hook can reach his brain, Mista distracts Pesci, the User of Beach Boy, by breaking the ice the assassin had kept for himself. Closing on Pesci and holding him at gunpoint to interrogate him Prosciutto ambushes him disguised as an old man. Mista was completely disabled by The Grateful Dead's aging power and was shot in the head by Prosciutto who then leaves him, thinking he was dead. However, Sex Pistols No.5 stopped the bullet with the aid of a piece of ice Mista fortunately kept in his head, while No.6 goes to Bucciarati to assist him against Pesci and Prosciutto. Bucciarati manages to win and kill both, but the train was disabled. The gang quickly hitches a ride by hiding in a truck, still hidden inside the turtle. Unfortunately, Sex Pistols steal the driver's lunch, who discovers the turtle. Mista, in a panic, knocks the driver out, resulting in the truck crashing and the gang forced to look for another mode of transportation. In a parking lot, Mista steals a car alongside Narancia, Fugo and Abbacchio, unaware that Giorno is battling Baby Face. Mista then spends the remainder of the trip toward Venice outside the turtle and watching for any enemies. When the Boss instructs Bucciarati to retrieve a disk containing his final orders hidden in Venice, Mista and Giorno are sent to retrieve it. Unfortunately, their car is attacked by the assassin Ghiaccio, whose Stand White Album grants him the power to lower the surrounding temperature dramatically.
Overview
Personality and attributes
In appearance, Guido Mista was a male of Italian descent who possessed sharp, well-defined facial features, including a straight nose and a prominent jawline. He had a serious expression and dark eyes that complemented his focused demeanor. His body type was athletic and lean, showing a toned musculature that suggested high levels of physical activity and agility. For his attire, he wore a highly distinctive and unconventional outfit consisting of a blue, tight-fitting, long-sleeved sweater with a white grid-like pattern that stopped just above his midriff. Beneath this, he wore an orange-and-white striped undershirt. His trousers were red and featured a similar grid-like pattern to his sweater, secured by a dark belt. He wore dark, sturdy boots suitable for tactical movement. His most recognizable accessory was a tall, diagonal-pointed, blue-and-white patterned cap that covered his hair and forehead, which he also utilized for storing extra ammunition. He carried his revolver in a holster strapped to the side of his leg, often keeping his hands near it for rapid access.
He suffered from tetraphobia which was a fear of the number 4 that stemmed from his childhood after he witnessed a kitten that was fourth in a litter claw out his neighbours eyes. As such, he believed the number to be unlucky and was weary of it. This went to the point that he did not use the number 4 among his Stand bullets and in fact skipped the number.
While Mista was friendly with every member of his group, he has a privileged relationship with Bucciarati or Giorno. Like all members of Team Bucciarati, Mista looks up to Bucciarati in all aspects and has ironclad confidence in him, even trusting Bucciarati to overthrow the Boss of Passione not long after the latter had announced his betrayal. In parallel to his admiration for Bruno, Mista builds a partnership with Giorno, being one of the first to realize his talents. In time, Giorno would become perhaps the closest member of the team to Mista, with the two eventually creating a fruitful combination in battle.
Powers and abilities
Guido Mista was originally an ordinary human being with no special powers though was skilled in using a gun. Mista is a gifted sharpshooter. His uncanny precision with a revolver, supported by his ability to keep his cool even in the middle of a gunfight, makes him a particularly deadly individual and assassin.
Mista demonstrated exceptional proficiency in marksmanship and firearms handling, specifically with a short-barrelled revolver. He exhibited the ability to reload his weapon with high speed and precision, using his fingers and his hat to store and retrieve spare ammunition during combat. He possessed a supernatural ability known as a Stand, named Sex Pistols, which consisted of six small, sentient entities numbered one through seven, excluding the number four. These entities lived within his revolver and possessed the ability to ride on fired bullets to alter their trajectory mid-flight. Mista displayed tactical coordination with these entities, allowing him to strike targets around corners or behind cover by having the entities kick the bullets in specific directions. He also showed high levels of physical durability and composure under fire, maintaining his accuracy while being subjected to direct attacks. Additionally, he demonstrated keen spatial awareness and calculation skills, determining the exact angles required for his redirected shots to hit their intended marks with lethal efficiency.
After being subjected to Polpo's test, he was stabbed with the Arrow that gave him his own Stand (スタンド Sutando) power which was a manifestation of his life energy in a physical form. In his case, his Stand was known as Sex Pistols (セックス・ピストルズ Sekkusu Pisutoruzu) which took the form of six bullet-like people that resided in his gun. They were numbered 1 to 7 with no number 4 existing as Mista found it to be an unlucky number. This stemmed from his childhood and the character for 4 in Japanese sounds similar to the word 'die'. Upon firing his gun, Guido could control the bullets direction through his Stand that could make them hit an direction or do an task he instructed to them. Each of the numbers had their own respective personalities and wanted to be fed otherwise they would not work.
Guido tends to use a revolver as his firearm and was skilled in using it. He tended to hide ammunition for it in his hat.
Entering into a life of crime, he came to join the Passione (パッショーネ Passhōne, lit. Passion in Italian) criminal organization. Within their ranks, he was a member of Team Bucciarati (ブチャラティチーム Bucharati Chīmu) who were one of the many squadrons within the mafia.
