The Monster Hunters
In 1956, the Bloodstone travelled to Africa due to a request by a friend Lynn Avery. He arrived to stop Grottu a mutated giant ant. The creature controlled an army of ant that headed straight for the city of Mombasa. However the passed through revealing their true plan to escape on a ship to conquer the world. He shot at Grottu's antennae limiting his control of the army. He found a warehouse full of sugar and then dumped it on Grottu. His army attacked him eating the sugar and they appeared to have killed the creature. (Strange Tales v1 #73) He followed back through the creature destructive path to the land of Wakanda. There he was a attack by a Tyrannosaurus rex but was saved by a Wakandan warrior named Zwadi. He was not able to find the true origin of the creature but believed that it hailed from a land deep underground whereupon Bloodstone accompanied by Zawadi went back to his home in New York. At the Explorer's Club, the group first gathered with them consisting of Agent Curtiss, Doctor Druid, Ulysses Bloodstone and Zawadi of the Wakandans. (Marvel Universe v1 #4) Their first mission together was to stop the rampaging Gorgilla where they attempted to capture the giant beast but he managed to escape. Doctor Druid later determined that a mysterious figure was controlling Gorgilla and sending him on a rampage in New York but he managed to convince the beast to depart peacefully. They tracked the creature throughout the city and tried to capture him at Yankee Stadium. After failing to capture the monster, they followed him where the trail lead them to the Statue of Liberty and Doctor Druid used his powers to calm the best so they could return it to the wild. - The Monster Hunters were created by Roger Stern and Mike Manley where they made their first appearance in Marvel Universe v1 #4 (September, 1998).

- In Werewolf by Night, monster hunters appeared in the setting of the live-action television special set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A monster hunting group led by Ulysses Bloodstone was formed where he became a famed hunter due to his ownership of the Bloodstone. Ulysses Bloodstone passed away eventually and decided to pass the Bloodstone on to whoever that can hunt down Man-Thing, a monstrous being that he had captured and locked in the Temple. Under his orders, his corpse was briefly reanimated so that he could pass his last will to the fellow monster hunters who participated in the hunt. His second wife Verussa Bloodstone was charged with oversight of the hunt with various hunters invited to it with these including Liorn, Azarel, Barasso, Joshua Jovan and even Elsa Bloodstone.
