History
The Priests of Pama were a group that formed among the Kree which consisted of more peaceful minded members of their kind. These members of the humanoid race encountered surviving Cotati that had survived the purge of Hala of their plant-based species. (Avengers v1 #134)
After the Annihilation Wave's invasion, the Priests of Pama travelled to the world of Lamentis at the edge of Kree space to rebuild a temple there and aid the local community. They were beset upon by a group of raiders that wanted to steal their supplies but were defended by Quasar Phyla-Vell and her lover Moondragon. (Annihilation: Conquest: Prologue v1 #1)
To defeat Kang, the Vision went through time and kidnapped his infant self which he took through time where he left the child at the Priests of Pama temple in Vietnam. Kang along with various incarnations of himself such as the Scarlet Centurion arrived to retrieve the child. Kang ended up killing the Priests that defended the infant despite the intervention of Hercules. (Avengers v7 #2)
On Earth, the Priests of Pama waited for their Cotati masters to begin their invasion of Earth and to purge the universe of animal life. Around this time, the they came to learn of the Kree Chronicle Jo-Venn and the Skrull Requiem N'Kalla arriving on the planet. The two children contained the collective memories of their respective races and all the wars they had fought. Thus, the Priests of Pama sought to capture them and use the Kree child's knowledge to build an Omni-Wave Projector. From there, they intended to beam all the hostilities the Kree and Skrulls had for one another into the minds of the Kree/Skrull Alliance. This was with the goal of making their enemies fall into in-fighting and trigger a new Kree/Skrull War allowing for the Cotati to wipe out their foes. As such, the Dark Harvest were dispatched to capture the children but they only succeeded in capturing the Kree Jo-Venn. They then plundered his mind and built the Omni-Wave Projector which started to affect the Kree soldiers across space causing them to turn aganst the Skrulls. The Dark Harvest then captured N'Kalla when she tried to free her Kree counterpart whereupon she was plugged into the machine thus causing the Skrulls to turn against their allies as well. It was only the intervention of Valeria Richards and Franklin Richards that caused the Kree Chronicle and Skrull Requiem to acknowledge their counterpart as a friend that led to the Priests plans being thwarted. They reported their failure to the Celestial Messiah who caused plants to sprout from them and consume them in order to attack the heroes but they were defeated. (Fantastic Four v6 #23)
Overview
They were an order of pacifists who did not engage in conflict. (Annihilation: Conquest: Prologue v1 #1) However, they were noted as being a hardy breed that made up in numbers for what they lacked in firepower. Whilst pacifists by nature, they were willing to fight to protect a charge given to them. (Avengers v7 #2) Their beliefs were formed from sentiments that became philosophy. (Avengers v1 #134)
On Earth, the Priests awaited the time of the Dark Harvest and moved to eliminate any threat to their masters. (Fantastic Four v6 #21) The Dark Harvest consisted of the most elite priests and warriors among their order.
